Rated 5 out of 5 by from Voted Best On Trail This was actually quite good, better than typical freeze-dried dinners. More like real food, with just enough character to make it interesting. Of all the meals on our 9-day trip, we liked this the best. Note that, as with most brands, the so-called 2-portion size is actually about right for one hungry hiker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best backpacking meal ever! If you like yellow curry, buy this meal. This backpacking meal is better than a lot of the take out yellow curry I've ordered here in Boston, or anywhere else for that matter. It's creamy and delicious with just a little spice. I originally purchased one for a backpacking trip in glacier, now I have a stack at home just waiting for a backpacking trip... or even just a rainy day when I don't want to bother going out to get food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yummy! Real coconut milk flavor. Nice vegetable taste and quantity. This is the perfect alternative to the same old salty product. Takes more than 20 minutes at 5500'. Worth the wait. I've bought it twice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Camping date night I was skeptical of trying this item while camping, due to a not super experience with the risotto. This however blew me away! The flavor built up to spicy not "hit you in the face and you will feel it later too" spicy. All of the veggies in it came back to life, the flavor pouch was great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW! Not your standard fare-so much better! This is amazing. It tastes awesome, and this from someone who isn't really into curry. Not too hot and spicy. Just-right portions for two. Ral food. Not at all like the freeze dried, chemically enhanced, GMO-full meals that make up most backpacking fare. I have actually served this for dinner at home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! I was really impressed at how flavorful this was without being too overloaded with salt. It was very filling without making you feel groggy, as well. The only negative is it takes over 20 minutes to rehydrate, but well worth the wait! I will definitely buy this one again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very tasty Very good flavor. Not too spicy but a pretty good kick. I'm a pretty good eater so I finished most of it in one sitting. Probably feed three adults with two of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Meal Ever! Being vegetarian it is easy to give the limited selection of freeze-dried meals a try and this one is hands down the best freeze dried meal we have ever had. I can't wait to try their 3 other meals and this one is now a staple on the backpacking dinner menu.

Is this an add water to pouch meal?

Asked by: Spec
They've provided a photo of the back of the package, which includes the directions. Basically, you have to remove (to discard) a packet of oxygen absorber, remove and open a packet of coconut milk powder and dump that in with the rest of the ingredients, then dump in boiling water, stir, re-seal, and let it sit at least 20 minutes to rehydrate. Longer sitting if at high altitude.
