Tent Sure Sealant

Beware of using this product. The sealant's characteristics have changed since I first used this product several years ago to re-seal the bottom of my bivy sack. At that time it was sold in an 8oz. (black) container and the mfr (McNett) recommended applying a very thin coating using a foam brush. The results were outstanding. Two months ago I again purchased this product, now sold in the 4oz (white) container. I applied a very thin coating using a foam brush as before... and the results are NOT good. Two months later the coating is still very tacky; the nylon fabric sticks together. I fear that my $200 bivy sack is now useless. McNett needs to fix the product's formulation or do a better job of quality control.

Rather amazing, actually.

I had used this product, some time back, and I loved it. In fact, I had even applied it on an "el cheapo", $30 tent that I'd picked up from Target, Worked like a charm, and occasionally, that tent still comes in handy for some "out of the trunk" camping, even after all of these years. On another tent I had used it on the floor of another tent. It works over wide areas. This was at the time when they were selling this with a paint-like spreader and I was disappointed that this was no longer the case. However,- with this new applicator, I think that it works even better for seams and patches, and is more efficient in cutting down on waste. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical, at first, but it did the job on the seams of my four-season, back-packing tent, and it's good as new. In fact, I would trust this product, more than the tents with the seam-taping. It's tough; it's durable. Try it,- you won't be disappointed.

Sealed my Old Half Dome - No More Leaks

Used this on my 6 year old tent rain fly, and it kept me dry on my last trip to Florida through 1 night of rain. You will need 2 bottles for an average rain fly - mine was a 2 person tent. Had some left over and used it on some dry bags and a back pack cover I had.

Renewed life for an old tent

I used this product to reapply the polyurethane closing on my 20 yr old eureka timberline. After following instructions provided by eureka to remove all of the old coating I followed the products instructions to Coast the floor of the tent. The end result was I could continue using my favorite tent.

difficult to use

The applicator is tough to use when the tent is set up and you are trying to apply the product. The applicator requires a lot of pressure to get the sealer to come out You can put the tent fly on the floor and then apply the stuff because you can get the required pressure on it.
