Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and versatile These are great shoes for exactly what I bought them for...kicking around at the gym and casual walks. I was tired of wearing my "puffy" running shoes for everything and I like to reserve running shoes just for running so they will last longer. They are cute even on my enormous feet. Recently took them as my camp shoes on a 6-day bike tour where I was counting ounces and was very happy with how lightweight they are. They don't have a ton of support (I have high arches), but they are slim and comfortable. Tops are MESH, so don't expect to keep moisture out....but that means they have nice airflow in the heat, which is a plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE! I love this shoe! I'm constantly in search of the next best running shoe and Merrell has nailed it with this one! There was no need to break this shoe in before my run. I put them on right out of the box and ran three miles. I use them daily for treadmill and dirt road running. I read reviews that they run small but didn't have this problem. I ordered my normal size and they fit perfectly with regular running socks. However, if you like thicker socks, I suggest ordering up half of a size. This shoe is super light weight and feels great on my feet! A+ on this pair of shoes!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT a trail running shoe I love the fit of these shoes and how they are lightweight and breathable, but they are NOT meant for trail running, or any trail for that matter. I use them 3-4 times a week for 1 week and had to return them because there was no tread left. I mean, zero tread. After one week!! I could hardly finish a hike because I could feel any sharp rock I stepped on and it hurt. Also, parts of the tread were coming apart - the foam was separating from the rubber sections. I love them at first, but no way could these have lasted me all summer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A light, comfy trail running shoe big on stability This is my second purchase of the Merrell Women's Mix Master Move Glide Trail Running shoe from REI. I was very skeptical that such a light, comfortable shoe would have anything to offer on the trail until I went camping and fishing with my folks and used the shoes in all sorts of terrain from trails, to slopes, to wet river rocks. I was surefooted and never got tripped up or bruised from rocks wedged in the tread. The shoes are cool and stable and I never changed them out the entire trip. If they got wet, they dried quickly and retained their shape regardless of the beating they were taking. Who knew such a light, flat shoe would make for such comfortable trail running and hiking. I am sold on these little beauties!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Got for work I'm going to preface this with I am not a runner. I tried these shoes on at REI and thought they were super comfortable and liked them a lot. I'm a certified nursing assistant so I'm on my feeties and walking around frequently every day. We also go hiking and whatnot with dogs. I got these shoes in April off 2016 then broke my ankle the same day I wore them the first time D: so didn't wear them for 12 weeks. Once I was healed enough to wear shoes again I was so excited to put these back on! So I started wearing these at the end of June 2016, it's now mid September 2016 and basically my shoes are already going bald. The tread is wearing off the bottom, the pink is peeling off the gray of the sole in multiple places and for the most part they've been worn on smooth tiled floor or carpet. I did one 5k fun run but that was it. I am not impressed at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Kids shoe My son uses this shoe because he is in-between kids and adult shoe sizes. He said it doesn't look like a girl shoe so he didn't mind wearing it. The shoe took a 9 year old boy's beating for 9 months. He wore the shoe every day until the put a hole in the side and wore the bottom almost completely off. We went to get another pair, a 1/2 size bigger, and the first pair the front of the sole came unglued. Shoe was exchanged and have had no issues. He likes the light weight, flexible fit. I like the durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are the best shoes!! I was trying to find a walking/gym shoe. After exchanging another pair of shoes twice because they just didn't feel right. On a whim, I tried these on in the store and fell in love with them. I like that they are super light weight, and they are wide in the ball of the foot which gives me better stability. Also, they don't feel bulky. I can walk in these for hours. Lastly they are nice looking. I have received many compliments towards them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great trail shoe I went against everyone's advice (i.e., no time to test them out) and bought this two days before a trip out West. We did Zion, Kanarra Falls (with frigid streams!), Kolob, and Grand. They totally exceeded all expectations as a minimalist trail shoe. I'm buying another pair ASAP.

Do these run true to size and are they suitable for a wide with foot?

Asked by: On my feet all day dog trainer
I have bunions and the mesh accommodates them nicely. The shoes fit my narrow heels pretty well so I wouldn't say they'd be great for an overall wide foot.

I wear orthotics. Can the insole be removed?

Asked by: lifeisajourney
The insoles can be removed from the Mix Master Move Glide Trail-Running Shoes.

I see these are labeled as light trail, would they be suitable for a thru-hike?

Asked by: noob5000
No they would not be. I would recommend Merrell's All Charge for a thru hike because of the stability, grip and increased padding of that shoe. I wear these to work and around the house because they are good for my painful feet.

Will the traction on these be ok on some wet rocks I might encounter on the trail? How about some rocky inclines?

Asked by: Angela
The aggressive traction is fine for wet rocks or rocky inclines you may encounter on the trail.

Can an you suggest a shoe for me? I am female and wear size 11 narrow and will be using shoes for a game called PickleBall (yup, that's the name and is great fun!) . I'm 70 years old and love my Merrell shoes that are WORN OUT: can't find replacemen!!

Asked by: Jane
These shoes are very comfortable, but definitely NOT narrow. If you like Merrell, I suggest trying the Pace Gloves. I think they are the next best thing to being barefoot. Enjoy your PickleBall! Now I'll have to look that up. :)

Are these actually trail-running shoes? I just bought them at my local store and an employee told me they are incorrectly labeled as trail running shoes. I believe that because the tread on them are thin and do not look fit for trail terrain.

Asked by: Meowmix777
Merrell classifies the Mix Master Move Glide as a trail-running shoe. They are a low profile design which gives you a good connection with the ground combined with cushioning for shock absorption and a sole appropriate for varied terrain.

Can these shoes be waterproofed?

Asked by: Pgreeny
They can't be completely waterproofed, however, using a product like Nikwax Fabric and Leather Waterproofing for Footwear can increase the water repellency: https://www.rei.com/product/739359/nikwax-fabric-and-leather-waterproofing-for-footwear

Can someone explain: how do you have a 18mm stack height but only 4mm under the ball of foot and 8mm under the heel? I'm looking for 16mm-22mm of cushion and max of 4mm differential - would these shoes provide this?

Asked by: novah
Stack height is the thickness of material under your foot. Heel to toe drop is the difference in height between your heel and toes. So your heel could be at 18mm and your toes are at 14mm. That would give you a drop of 4mm. These shoes fall within the parameters you described.
