I bought these last week following their release. I was very excited because I love the Agility Peak shoes. These seemed like they would have a similar feel, but better performance. I took them for my first trail run today. They felt good under my feet, but I never quite got the lacing right. They either felt too loose or too tight – or felt like the tongue was being swallowed by the shoe, leaving the laces tightly hugging the top of my feet. I finished my 8 mile run, having enjoyed them overall, but still being feeling like the lacing wasn't right. When I got home and took the shoes off, I was very shocked and disappointed to find blue markings all over the tops of my feet... through my (black) socks! On the top inside of my feet, it feels like there is a rash as well. If anyone can advise how to properly lace the shoes, please let me know. I am disappointed because I was so excited about these shoes. At this point, I don't know if I want to wear them a second time. If these shoes have been tested by so many athletes and been so many iterations, as the marketing states, I am shocked that no one else has experienced these blue markings / harsh rubbing on the tops / insides of feet. I will mention that I replaced the insole with an arch support insole. However, I have done this with many other shoes, including the Agility Peak 5, and never experienced anything remotely like this. I hate giving 1 star reviews, especially because I loved Merrell, but I can't give a "Fair" rating to a shoe that has left blue marks over the tops of my feet. If I am crazy, and this is normal, please tell me.
Fits great on my foot, comfy and true to size! The colors look sweet. I like this shoe for buttery, gravel road workouts.
I have ran about 100km in this shoe and have loved the cushion and energy return from the carbon plate. I have used the shoe on technical and non technical trails in North Vancouver. The grip handles well on both. I use this shoe for racing and training, and it performs best on quicker runnable trails.
This is a great shoe for those fast, flowy trails. I can really feel the extra energy return and bounce I get from the carbon plate. The traction on these shoes is great too!
Shoes are light and fast, perfect for racing and speedy days in the mountains!
