Rated 5 out of 5 by from No complaints from 10 year olds after 10 miles A backpacking or hiking trip with my 10-year old twin daughters typically consists of multiple adjustments, reworks, or rigging something to improve comfort - not with the Osprey Ace 50! They both were very happy at the end of our most recent backpacking trip. When searching for a backpack for their average 10-year old girl frames, I found that the options are not great even from some of the best pack builders in the world - so happy that we found a fully adjustable, comfortable, and tricked out pack for them. I am looking forward to this pack growing with the over then next few years for our adventures in the woods and beyond. And it was nice to have the pack cover stashed on the underside of the pack - and it came with the product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Light and comfortable The adjustable torso is hard to find and wonderful. This pack is very lightweight, so while for a lot of our needs this is oversized, I love the flexibility since it is comfortable when not full. The waterproof cover is great, along with the pockets on the hip belt. Our only frustration was the limited access through only the top or bottom. We would love front panel access.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kid tough Bought this pack for my 9 year old son to take wit us on a 4 day Scout trip. Had more than enough room for all his gear, but we downloaded it to 18 lbs. Easy to get at anything in the pack. Very durable, no snags on brush, zippers never snagged. Especially liked the mesh outside back pocket for damp items to dry while hiking. He loved having a pack like dad's. I appreciate that it will grow with him for some years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adjustable, fits my 6 year old Too many of the kids multi-day packs lack a comfortable hip belt. I was worried this pack was too big, but the spine/length setting adjusts down for kids only 48-inches tall...this will allow for growth. Furthermore, its capacity makes it a legit multi-day pack. Looking forward to our trip in Olympic later this summer...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use for small woman on budget. At the time of my trip I was 5'3 and 125 lbs. I have a very short torso and finding a fitting pack is difficult. I went on a week long solo canoe trip in Algonquin park using this pack. Although not as advanced or designed for a specific activity, this is a solid, simple pack. It has held up extremely well and is very adjustable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for my 6 year old I picked this up to take my 6 year old on his first backpacking trip. I think it was a pretty good value for the money, and he was really excited to be able to carry his own gear. The adjustability should let him use it for a decent number of years as he grows.

Why does is the hydration pocket inside the bag instead of outside like the adult sized bags? Why do all brands of kid's sized bags have this?

Asked by: bigtortilla
Not all kid's packs have internal reservoir sleeves and not all adult packs have external reservoir sleeves. The location of the reservoir sleeve depends on the design and manufacturer.
