Stadium Tour Proof!
I needed a little something to stop my "artiste" from tripping over some temporary cables crossing her giant revolving stage, in dark and/or smokey conditions. These lights were an easy soloution as they were cheap and a great excuse to visit REI during work. They were taped to the cables and were manhandled, dropped, rained on, stood on and generally abused by stagehands, touring crew and performers alike. The tour has just ended, the lights are still working and I'm excited to find out if they're camping- and child-proof too.
Great addition for a cozy campsite
I just bought these white lights for a camping trip down to Big Sur and they worked out very well! I looped them around the poles of the tent because they don't clip on - which it wasn't an issue. The lights have a few different settings: one slightly dimmed, one brighter, and I believe two settings of flashing lights. It made our tent look extra cozy and I can't wait to use them again.
Great for the campsite
I purchased the purple/fuchsia strand online, it was the only color not available in the store (go figure). I love them. I have only used them once so far, so I can't speak of their longevity, but they sure were cute at my campsite. They are fairly bright, but you wouldn't be able to use them to navigate around your campsite in the middle of the night. They will not produce any light pollution and you can still enjoy the night sky. I bought another strand so I can string it up around my campsite. They will be great in helping you find your campsite after you return from a night hike. I am so excited to continue to use these lights at my campsite.
Bought Two, Neither Worked
After reading the online reviews, and seeing how cool these looked in photos, I couldn't wait to try them for myself. I ordered both the blue and green lights and the white lights, after I read that only the white light battery pack has the dimming capability. Right out of the box neither of them worked. I tried different battery brands, made sure I had them placed correctly, and even tried holding the button down for a few seconds just in case I wasn't working them correctly. No luck. Neither one would turn on. I am extremely disappointed. I'm going to try exchanging for a different pair, and hope that I just got product from a bad batch.
Works great, but.
I bought one for a section hike on the PCT, it worked and looked grate, the second time out it stopped working, took it back to REI got another, same thing happened while backpacking, I want to buy another but it they keep breaking I'll look for another option
just buy them
Nice lights! I purchased the White lights and they were a lot brighter than expected.
Poorly made. Didn't work out of the box.
I should have listened to other reviewers (One reviewer even purchased the Blue/Green and Black/White and both didn't work out of the box) about these lights failing. Mine didn't work out of the box. The back of the box description says the lights run on three AAA batteries and just a little farther down the box under Key Features it then says the lights run on (3) AA batteries. ENO didn't put any effort into making a good product here. Cheap plastic battery holder, typos on the box, and copper wire strands are poking out of the rubber molded headphone jack that connects the light strand to the battery holder. These are being returned. I should have gotten the mtnGLO lights instead.
Camp Lights
Bought these after checking them out on YouTube. It was money well spent! I strung these up in my tent while in the bush and it lit my four person tent up well enough for me to find everything I needed. They're very bright for how small and compact they are, they run longer and brighter with lithium batteries. The carry case keeps them compact and safe.
Good product
I have the Blue/Green lights. They're well-made, bright, and burn a long time on AAAs. The only down side with the Blue/Green lights is that the blue LEDs require more power than the green LEDs, so when the batteries start to wear down the blue lights start to extinguish long before the green. Eventually you only have half a strand of green lights. But this is physics, not a fault of the product. But the best thing about these lights is that they happen to be Seahawks team colors! Go Hawks!!
Very pretty; use non-rechargeable batteries
I have the white light/black cord variety. Kind of expensive for what they are, but they do look nice. Rechargeable batteries have a slightly lower voltage than non-rechargeables, and the difference can really be seen with these lights - I recommend non-rechargeables if you want the best effect.
