Zempire  Megadome 500 Lantern

I purchased 5 of these for my camper van and after 6 months the rubber shade has turned black on all of them. They look terrible. I would not recommend these or purchase them again. Given the total cost I'm shocked. My rig is clean too.

A nice lamp that gives off a pleasant light. The battery charge lasts a long time. It’s been used periodically during three 3-week camping trips (not every day) over a 2 year period, and occasionally in between. One drawback is that the on switch is easily activated if the lamp is stored inside a bag, which draws down the charge. Then it needs to be recharged to use it. Another small drawback (repeated in the newest versions of this lamp) is that the battery is not replaceable after it wears out. Overall it’s a good lamp, as long as the battery lasts at least several years.

We just love this lantern! So much so we bought a second one for our shelter plus the smaller hangdome for the bedroom too. When hanging it lights a tent space really well, especially as the light shines down rather than just out like many other hanging lanterns. Being able to adjust the amount of light it emits is great with multiple settings. We charged it once before leaving and it lasted us a week - might have gone longer but we headed for home before it needed another charge. The glow in the dark material its made of makes it easy to locate when its off plus as it is soft it doesnt hurt if you do whack your head on it!! The only thing that would make this better would be a remote so you could turn it off and on from bed. Other wise its pretty darn great as is.

We were so excited when we got this light. We charged it fully and was so impressed by the brightness we wanted to buy another two but it didn’t hold its charge and literally left us in the dark. **Hi KiwiKamper..... did you contact us re this as that should not happen and we would be happy to investigate for you. We bought two sizes of those lights and are very happy with both. They stay charge for long and they are easy to charge just with an usb cable. We use the bigger one in living area and gazebo and have to say - it is very pleasant lighting (some other lights get very sharp into your eyes in the evening). The best feature on both - when you walk around them and hit them with your head, it doesn't hurt as they are made from soft materials :) Love it!

It's a wonderful idea and anyone who camps a lot knows how annoying it can be to get table top lighting for cards and similar. This one can rest on top of the table to stop that annoying in your eyes blinding light and its a warm white too which is pleasant. However the first use the battery lasted a long time but not I notice it goes flat very fast which is annoying. If it wasn't for that I'd give it 5 stars.

Absolutely love our new Megadome light! The glow in dark feature and different brightness settings are awesome. The handy hook to hang outside bedrooms for the middle of the night trek to amenities is an added feature which is great! We will be purchasing another Megadome to add one to our living room in our Evo TL. Highly recommend to those on the hunt for fantastic light!
