Rated 4 out of 5 by from crashable hat I bought this hat so it can be packed in my carry-on. Looks like straw, but it's actually fabric-yarn woven like straw. Breathes well, but not for rainy weather. Big brim a plus in the sun, but I had to attach my own chin cord with toggle so it won't blow away in wind. It only came in one size, is supposed to be able to adjust with the strap specially tied to allow adjustment, but it's not very secure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Hat I used to wear both a hat and sunglasses to work in my sun garden. This hat provides such good UV protection that I can ditch the sunglasses... I wish the hat also came with a chin strap so I could wear kayaking...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute with wide brim; not lightweight I wanted packable sun protection for travel, versatility to use while on the beach or hiking or exploring a new city without looking like i just finished gardening, and a generally flattering shape. I'd say that it is a great hat, but it's not an all-arounder for my personal travel desires. Style: i like this hat on me- i think most wide brimmed hats look like i'm trying to be Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman or Indian Jones...and failing in epic fashion either way. This one can be worn casually or dressed up. Protection: love the spf rating and the wide brim that covers head, face, ears, and part of the neck. Packability: meh. It is somewhat crushable for sure, but i found it easier to just wear it or put it on my lap, which means it was a little bit in the way, being as large as it is. Also it's a lot heavier than i was expecting. Fit: i bought it in the medium (smallest size REI had), and despite the adjustable sliding knot thing (which is admittedly much cuter than some other methods), it was still a bit too big for me. The knot does not stay tightened in the same position. Versatility: OK but don't expect miracles. I wore it out on the town (where i promptly left it in a restaurant SIGH), on the beach, and on a hike. It was great for on-the-town. It was mostly great for the beach (but like i said, kind of heavy). It was poor for hiking- not enough ventilation if you're actually working up even a mild sweat. I ended up taking it off and stealing my husband's baseball cap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great hat This is a great hat. It is super comfortable and stays in place when it is windy. It also is super cute even for people who don't want to look to dowdy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saves from the Sun! I bought this hat before a trip to Mexico and it saved me! I was in the sun all day for 8 days and it kept me cool and protected. It was pretty easy to pack too! Definitely worth every penny.
