I plan on wearing this visor often when the weather warms up as I will be outside during the day with my 2 yr old. I like material the visor is made from, it is lightweight and I don't think it will get as dirty as if it were cotton canvas. It is nice that the visor folds in half so I can carry it in my purse or stash it in my console in my car. I only wish it came in a few more colors, specifically brighter solid colors such as teal, bright green, fuchsia, and black would be nice. I feel a little older than my age (30's) wearing a visor sometimes, especially in muted colors, so maybe brighter colors would make it feel a little more young?
Not enough protection
On the plus side, it is cool and lightweight for here in the desert where I live. On the negative side, the brim does not provide the wider area of my other visors. Also, I have a small head and when I secure the velcro strap to fit me, the extra unneeded length of strap sticks way out on the side. In addition, the brim does not lay flat but rises up in the middle where it is designed to fold. Due to this fold, whenever I face the east sun in the morning while exercising, I have to have it so low that I can hardly see safely. I am sorry I bought it.
This seems like a nice visor, but there were a couple of dealbreakers for me. First, the slate gray color is almost black in person, which is much darker than it appears online and not what I was looking for. Also, other Sunday Afternoons hats in size medium work for me, so my head isn't huge, but the velcro on this is pretty short and I only had about half an inch overlapping. If they made this in lighter colors and swapped the velcro out for webbing and a buckle, I'd give this visor a try again, but this one didn't work for me.
I love how this hat fits into my pocket or my purse since the brims folds! I have two little kids under the age of 3 so it is great to have it stow so quickly and easily. It is REALLY comfortable where it sits on my head, the fabric is soft and does not feel tight or give me a headache. It is hard to find a hat that holds up to little kids playing with it, AND be super comfortable to wear all day AND still be a great price. This hat is fantastic!!! I got the blue color, which is very subtle and pretty, by the way!
My second purchase of this great visor!
I’ve owned this visor for several years......Hiking, traveling, lots of mileage on it and it looks the same as day one. I decided I wanted to have a spare, so this is my second one. I love the fold up clam shell design ....so easy to tuck it away in a bag or pocket anywhere. I have washed the original many times & it looks great. Most visors give me a headache but this one is very comfortable, the “head band” forms to/sits nicely on my head so I never have to adjust it too tightly. A great purchase!
I am an avid hiker. I easily get too hot and therefore prefer visor to a hat. I have a tiny head (21 1/8 inches). It is always a challenge to find something to fit. I took a chance on this visor and am glad I did. Much to my surprise I am able to get it to fit snuggly! Finally a visor that won't blow off. It also has that extra band to protect my forehead up on the hairline from burning and can be folded in half to fit in my back pocket. Love this little visor! I found myself a little gem.
Most versatile and durable visor
This visor has a perfect sized brim that folds and can store easily. Can place sunglasses above the brim safely and securely with the eyeglass lok system. Envy of other travelers in Eastern and Northern Europe, cruising the Andes to Machu Picchu and through Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar. Did all this with one hat. Only bought a new one because I misplaced my original hat. Really durable.
I loved this visor for a year and was really upset when I lost it after falling into the water on vacation. So happy I found it again and can't wait to get it. My head is small and it fits great while keeping all my hair out of my face. It does have a longer brim for good protection and is so easy to stash in my weekend bag just in case I find myself out in the sun. It's also really cute.
Great in and out of the water
I have 3 Aero visors and they've spoiled me for anything else. The additional side coverage, the folding brim, the quality of construction, washability - nothing else compares. On very sunny dive days, I wear mine on the boat ride out, fold and stash it in my BCD pocket during the dive, then put it back on at the surface to protect my face while waiting for pickup.
I purchased two of this style. In looking at the back showing an adjustable strap, the three dots lead me to believe the hat would adjust to those sizes without the remaining strap exposed. It doesn't and the excess sticks out. Should have used the same feature as the sunglass insert for the adjustable strap. Then the excess would be hidden.
