If you have a Wrangler, esp. a Rubicon, beware...

This looks like it would be a good, basic hitch-mounted bike rack. However, if you have a Wrangler Rubicon, the spare on the rear gate will hit a vertical post on the rack when you try to fully open the rear gate. See the photos, they illustrate the problem. Also, you will likely need a receiver extension. Due to the wide spare on the rear gate, you can't insert the rack far enough into the receiver to secure it. (If you have a different flavor of Wrangler with an upgraded, larger spare, you may have the same problem; the M/T tires that are stock on the Rubicon are 32" overall diameter and fairly wide.) Just a little friendly warning! :)

What happened to Quality Control?

Agreeing with the other poster (and another on a different forum), I was unable to assemble this rack due to a manufacturer defect. The alignment holes in the steel were a few mm off, making it useless unless you decide to file it down yourself. Hopefully Thule takes a closer look in the future.

Pathetic

This product deserves ZERO stars, but I am forced to give it at least one. Couldn't actually use it, because the stamped holes didn't match up during assembly. Couldn't bolt 'er up to put a bike on it. The bolt was angled several degrees such that it wouldn't exit the tube at the other end. I had to jam one bolt through to remove a burr, but the one bolt simply wouldn't go through to tube. Pathetic. Oh, and Thule doesn't answer their phones on Mondays.

Thule Parkway 2 Bike Hitch rack

Start to finish, the rack assembly was easy and the installation on the factory installed hitch, even more so. It is well built and sturdy. I do suggest for the sake of installing the mounting bolt through the hitch, a dab of light grease on the threads. This is my second Thule 2 bike carrier and this is why I decided to go with it again.

Thule bike rack

We have just started to bike again and need a bike rack , this one fit all our needs . It was easy to install. We drive an SUV and the rack is easy to let down for access to our back cargo door.
