Positives: - Easy to load & unload - Sturdy. This thing is a tank - Virtually impossible for bikes to fall off - Zero contact with bike frames - More ground clearance than 4-bike tray racks - Compatible with kids bike wheels (Shown with accessory) Negatives: - Tilting downward when unloaded requires a surprising amount of force - Does not offer much security for the bikes or the rack itself - Difficult to store in the garage My wife and I wanted a 4-bike rack that does not require wheels to be removed, and would not sacrifice ground clearance (steep driveway entry). We were torn between the Thule Revert and Velocirax 412. Thule's never let us down before so we went with the Revert despite being a brand new product. No regrets, we love it.
We’ve used this twice now for our MTBs. Works really well. Like the lift assist. Wish the integrated lock was keyed the same as the hitch lock.
This is a great rack! Easy to put together, bikes fit well etc. The only reason I gave it a 4 is that it’s quite heavy, so not super easy to take on and off and store away.
Great secure rack I have no concern that bikes will move around or fall off. The other reviews saying it's very stiff to lower are well warranted. I am 5'10 165lbs active women and feel like I have to put all my weight and effort into lowering it. Also the leaver to lower and raise it is quite stiff I have to often use both hands and then awkwardly shift one hand up to the wheel carrier start pulling and then shift my second hand. It can also be quite tall depending on where your hitch is located ground clearance of your vehicle
I used to have a NorthShore 4 bike rack but had a couple complaints so ended up going back to a tray style rack. When this one was released, I had my eye on it and am glad I finally pulled the trigger! The only contact to the bike is on the wheels (rubber straps for the rims) and the bikes don't shift around at all! The spacing between the trays is excellent and loading/unloading is extremely easy. The cartridge lift support is interesting and I could take it or leave it but with 4 bikes it does help if you're shorter/smaller!
This a great bike rack! I bought this to replace a fork style and I am so glad I did. All of our bikes now fit very comfortably without them rubbing against each other. The rack is very secure while traveling with no sway at all. It easily tilts back and out of the way to gain access to the back of our SUV. Love it!
I have had a lot of racks. Anything from a flat tray, tailgate pads, and even the VelociRAX. This is an absolutely amazing rack. Quality is top of the line. Best things about this rack is how easy it is to put it on your hitch, the ratchet to tighten the hitch is great, loading and unloading with the hydraulics is incredible, and it is so solid and stable. This rack is an absolute game changer, I love everything about it. Heads over the other hang racks in the industry and price point is very competitve.
The rack itself is great, I wouldn’t recommend it for eMTB’s. I ended up returning it because when I put my electric mountain bikes on it I didn’t like the strain it put on the front forks and the neck of the frame. If I had lighter bikes I think it would be perfect.
Exactly what we needed. Very stable with no rattle. Extends beyond spare tire of Jeep Wrangler Rubicon perfectly (we had to use extender with our old rack). Lowering it takes some muscle/weight, but our 10 year old can manage it.
I’ve been really happy with the Thule ReVert. It does a great job of keeping the bikes secure while also protecting the frames, which was one of my biggest concerns when shopping for a rack. The bikes stay separated well, and I haven’t had any issues with rubbing or damage during transport. I also find it very easy to load and unload. Once you get the hang of it, getting bikes on and off is quick and straightforward, even when hauling several bikes. The rack is definitely on the heavy side, and the price isn’t cheap, but those are trade-offs I’ve been willing to make for how solid and well-designed it feels. Overall, it’s been easy to use, holds the bikes securely, and gives me confidence that they’re protected on the road. I’d definitely recommend taking a close look at the ReVert for anyone considering vertical bike racks.
