Warm and cozy even in frigid wind
Bought this jacket for a trip to Europe in December and it didn't disappoint. Handled some frigid Geneva winds brilliantly. Hood was perfectly shaped for some extra protection. Got a little too cozy above 50 degrees so definitely a cold weather choice. And the "packable" part was a challenge. Find the exterior front pocket that has the double zipper. And plan to take a solid 3 minutes to work on it. My family started to call it the hotdog jacket because it's a strange shape when it's in pack mode. Not a traditional square or rectangle. More like a tube. So keep stuffing toward the ends so you can get it zippered. That was my only "could be better" moment.
I love it
I originally bought this to summit Kilimanjaro. It kept me nice and toasty when it was pretty chilly up there. I recently brought it out on a high elevation hunting trip with 40+ mph wind gusts on the ridge lines. Man was I happy to have this coat. I wasn’t cold and my husband was very jealous. I would definitely recommend. Also would recommend to size up so other layers fight under it. I had a base layer, the ghost whisperer, and a rain shell underneath this coat for both of those trips.
suits me as i am not very tall
The short style suits me as I'm not very tall, and the down is thick enough to keep me warm even in the snowy mountains. But the sleeves are a bit too long.
Love!
I love this coat. I am not super rugged or anything, just a picky coat wearer. This coat is WARM. A lot of down coats say they are high fill, but they are like high density fill but somehow not enough of it? This coat is not like that. There is plenty of floof here. It is well pocketed. Big hood you can fit a hat or ponytail under. I got a rain softshell from MH too and I love it. This will be one of my go-tos for good coats now.
A waste of money
This coat was a replacement for an MH jacket I loved. After a couple of times wearing it ….it is nothing like my old one. It provides very minimum warmth, in fact I wonder if it is defective as there is very little padding in it. I did contact MH via email. As of yet there is no response. At this price point it is a huge disappointment. Do NOT buy!
Very warm
Great jacket, runs a little large, but extremely warm and gets the job done. I'd recommend ordering your normal size anyways so there's opportunity to layer underneath if needed
Love it
light weight but warm. Double zipper is very helpful. Hood adjusts well. Love it! When it is not zipped to the top, the face faps could fold to the side more easily.
Great fit
Fits very well and is flattering. There's enough room in the shoulders and chest for layers. I'm 5'3" and a size 4/6 and the small fits great.
Love this warm down jacket
So warm! Good looking and great fit. I am 120 lbs, 5’5, and the small fits me with ample space for under layers.
A weak 800fill
I like the jacket but it’s not a warm 800 fill feels more like a 600 fill might return bummed about it
