Mountain Hardwear  Stretchdown Parka - Women's

Omg I love this coat so much — I’ve only recently received it but the fit, feel, color, and warmth are just perfect. I’ve had other stretch down jackets from Mountain Hardwear but this is the first one that I’ve been truly thrilled with. I got the “outer dark” color, which is like a vibrant navy blue. The hood is terrific. The pockets are capacious. The proportions are just right. The stretch down fabric is so comfortable and ideal for movement. I’m traveling this winter between cold and warm-ish zones and this will be the perfect coat to travel with, that is highly warm but also packable. This is the coat I’ve been striving to find!

I work in outdoor retail and when these stretch down parkas landed in our store I had my eyes on them immediately! By the time I decided to buy one, I had probably tried them on a dozen times! The stretch down is high quality and unique. I went back and forth between a L and an XL— the L was very flattering and hugged my body beautifully but the XL had more room for layers such as a fleece underneath. I decided on the XL and have been so pleased with it! It’s already snowed here in Idaho and I’ve been wearing my parka whenever I can! I love the draw cord in the hips, but wish that there was a way to adjust the hood, as it’s made to be helmet compatible but is therefore oversized without a helmet on.

My favorite winter coat! It keeps me super warm. Highly recommend!

5'1", Measurements 36-26-39, 120 lbs. Ordered size medium, perfect fit, 2" above knee, perfect sleeve length, room for layering or sweater. Beautiful color: Dark Storm Heather. Light weight, roomy, comfortable hood and collar, high quality 2 way zipper, well placed large deep side zip pockets, roomy inside zip pocket, nearly hidden exterior bonus pocket next to Mountain Hard Wear logo, collar/hood toggles, hemline side toggles, well finished inside seams, cozy, comfortable and really warm. All around great looking and functional. I absolutely Love this Parka!

I bought the stretch down hoody and loved it so much I decided to to try the parka. I live in Alaska and you need a lot of jacket options if you get outside much. This one makes me want to get rid of all the others. It’s the most comfortable down parka I have ever worn. The sizing is generous and easily accommodated a sweater or multiple layers while still giving you the air pocket needed for warmth. You could size down but at 5 feet tall and 120lbs I find it the perfect roomy jacket that goes over everything. The hood cinches down tight for added protection in wind and the stretch makes this feel like you are not wearing anything at all. It really moves with you to stop that tightly bundled feeling but still giving all the warmth.

I tried this jacket on at a store on a whim. I had seen it on the website but the photos made it look like a jacket that fit weird. Boy was I shocked! Fits like a dream and the stretch down is great—especially for a jacket that covers your backside. I think they may have changed the baffle pattern from prior year and I also love the green with black zipper so I splurged on the new one. Highly recommend this setup!! I’m 5’5”, 130#, athletic and the small is lovely and leaves room to layer so I’m not a stuffed sausage when wearing a fleece underneath.

This is the most sensuous jacket I have ever owned. It is soft, warm, flattering. Warm with a light sweater to 34 here in Michigan. Customer service encouraged me to get a small, usually I buy mediums in coats for layering. Glad I got the small. Lots of room for layers, I am 5'6", 128lbs, average build. The neck and hood design excellent which is of great importance to me as I had surgery on my neck and am very sensitive to things rubbing, this neck is comfortable with the hood up or down. The only improvements I would offer is a drawstring for the hood to make it smaller ( I have a very small head ) and another drawstring at the very bottom at the thighs. Not much rain protection but not designed for that. All and all a fantastic jacket. Also, very comfy to sit it the car.

I bought the Stretchdown Parka to replace my Stretchdown Hoodie, which was too big due to weight loss. I wasn’t sure I loved the look of the parka as much as the hoodie, but I love the following parka features: 1. The collar zips up high eliminating the need for a scarf. 2. Chest pocket - so handy for phones. Let’s normalize chest pockets in women’s jackets. 3. I love the matte fabric of Stretchdown. Looks better than shiny down. 4. The parka covers your butt for extra warmth. I live in MN so it helps.

I live in Manhattan and I just got back from Florida .My new coat from Mountain Hardware was waiting for me and it is one awesome stylish coat . I can't believe how light it is and how warm I am in it . I leave the zip open a bit at the bottom and the top. I am 5 ft tall and 115 pounds and I got a medium as I like to add layers when it is really frigid. The sleeves are a bit long but I will have them shortened . I am so glad I bought this coat!!!
