Great Boots!

This is a very solid book with good grip, the toe box is wider than some of the other boots which makes the fit much better on foot and trail. I am impressed with the durability and grip of these boots on trail. I have been on rocky steep trails with these and can definitely say these are solid if you are serious about being on some tricky trails and doing some climbing. These boots feel light on foot which is nice and in my opinion are very adaptable, going from a day hike to a more backpacking style trip up in mountains. I highly recommend these

Not For Me

I was hesitant to buy this boot because there was only 1 review and this boot is no longer available directly through On but I went for it as they had all the features I was looking for. When the box was delivered I thought that they forgot to put the boots inside because it was so light. The boots were not only there but they were better looking than the picture. The quality is there. Stitching is tight. Nice padding. Grippy soles. They fit like a glove. Unfortunately after hiking in them for 1 mile they began to rub against my ankles. I stopped several times to try to readjust the laces but nothing helped. After 2 miles, the bottom of my feet became sore. They were so uncomfortable that I ended my hike early, went back to the car and promptly returned them to REI. If these boots fit your foot, you will love them. Not for me.

Solid Hiking Boot from On

I've used this for most of 2025 and completed 9 of the SoCal 6(12)-pack of peaks with them in addition to several peaks in the Sierra. I ordered 1/2 size larger, and they have been a great fit for me. I never really tested the waterproof nature of these boots, but light rain was no problem. They are still holding strong though the tread is now worn down significantly. I was hoping they would provide some of that springy feel you'd get with other On shoes and initially I did feel some of this when I tested them (though highly reduced compared to non-hiking shoes). However, at this point with over 200 miles on them, I'd say you'd be hard pressed to feel any of that cushion. Still, they provide the support, grip, and durability you are looking for in a shoe like this one. Definitely recommend this boot.
