I bought these shoes from another site. They are comfortable, but the quality is not as good as I expected. I've only had them about 3 months and already have a large hole in one of my shoes. I purchased 1/2 bigger, because I am a nurse, and my feet swell throughout my shift. I don't know if that was the cause, but I didn't expect the material to fail so easily. Also the shoe is very noisy. I don't know if it's the tread or rubber, but on hospital lineolium the sound is almost unbearable. Maybe next time, I'll try a wide shoe, but I don't think I'll getting the Kayano again.
Great plantar fasciitis relief and very supportive. These have helped my wife tremendously. She also likes the cushioning.
I have been an avid gel kayano wearer since 2009 (after a terrible foot injury and lis franc surgery) and although the design has varied throughout the years, I have typically loved them! I’m so glad to return to that level of love. They have fixed the heel area that was lacking in the last 2-3 models and it is a perfect design to not breakdown or wear out as you slip your heel into the shoe. The support is amazing like always. I will continue to support asics!! Keep the heel design!! It’s a winner! Thanks for listening to our reviews.
I really love the Gel Kayanos. My first pair ever were the 26s. The 31s have great support and are so comfortable. I have flat feet and I have no issues wearing these all day at work and after work to exercise. The only con is that they may be a half size small. I wear a 10.5 but always get a size 11 anyway so its not a big deal for me.
Already Ripped. I got these shoes about 2 weeks ago and the sole of the shoe has already ripped. For reference, I wear them on the track only for about 2 hours a day. 10 practices under 2 miles a day should not cause this level of deterioration. Ultimately very disappointed in the shoe and ASICS.
I bought these shoes because they were highly recommended by colleagues as well as people on social media. While they help with my overpronation, they are not comfortable and I squeak every where I go. I will stick with New Balance for comfort.
Absolutely love them! The comfort level is perfect. I wear a 7.5 but always size up in running shoes, 8 fit perfectly. The stability is definitely there. I used to require an insole on my right foot but I no longer need it.
Worst fit too tight on my toe box so bummed the 30 is a better fit but the 30 had a horrible wear factor i went thru several pairs
I’ve had these shoes for about 5 months and am disappointed in them. I loved the Gel Kayano 29’s and used the Gel Kayano 30’s for Orange Theory, One Life, and running. I’ve also enjoyed those, but the Gel Kayano 31s haven’t been good since I’ve had them; the tread has begun to come off on the front and back of the shoe. I only wear the shoes to walk in. I don’t do any strenuous activity in them, and they aren't upholding. I love Asics, I’ve worn them since I ran Indoor track and cross country in high school, and I'm 38. These shoes aren't the most comfortable and I don't feel they're well-made or as comfortable compared to other Kayanos and Asics I've had in the past.
I REALLY WANTED TO LOVE these shoes! I over-pronate badly and need stability but experienced two major issues: 1) the main reason i returned them: the padding is too high in the back and I got blisters on the back on my ankles about 1/2 mile into my first run! And 2) they are HOT!! I also felt like the cushion was actually a bit too much for running-- I only ran a short time but felt like I was working harder because my feet were sinking into the shoe. Aside from the ankle rub issue (ouch!), I could see these maybe being comfortable for people who are on their feet all day, just for casual work wear and standing/walking, but for running I'll stick with another brand.
