Cute but SMALL
These shorts are SO cute and soft. The sizing is definitely small and they are very low rise. I am 5’11”, 149lbs, and a size 6 and ordered a small based on the measurements, but could barely squeeze them on. The short fabric is stretchy but the liner has absolutely zero stretch. They sit below my hips and are VERY snug. Not sure if I’m going to keep them, which is a bummer because they’re so cute. I would definitely size up unless you want a spandex-like fit.
Sizing issues
Very cute shorts; I love the colors and designs. They are very short and low-cut, with almost no stretch. My main issue is the sizing. It is either inconsistent across colors, or there is a massive leap between a size M and L. I bought a pair of the orange plaid ones last winter in a size medium. They fit well at the time, but I’ve gained a few pounds so they are now skin-tight and give me a muffin top. So this year I ordered the yellow lake horizon print in a size large. These are way too big, and the draw cord doesn’t fix it. They hang off my body and would fall down if I tried to run in them. I’m disappointed but I’ll have to return this pair. I hope smartwool makes future iterations stretchier, and with a better drawcord; I think this would fix the issue for most of us.
