PLEASE bring back old design!!!
Please go back to old design! They changed these shorts just recently😭 These used to be my favorite shorts and the changes they made are terrible. The worst is the waist band is no longer comfortable! The old one used to be so comfortable and this one digs into my sides. Also the stitching makes it looks like they are inside out. It also now looks like they are .5” shorter. Please please please bring back old design!!!
Waistband not good
I bought these hoping that they would be similar to the 4.5 inch active pursuit shorts I have. Unfortunately. they aren’t. The waistband in the 4.5 inch pair is much more comfortable and forgiving. This one is a thinner band and rolls up strange on me. I’m still undecided whether I will keep or return. Please bring back the waistband from the 4.5 inch model!!
Old Ones Were Better
Agree with the other customers who said the previous design was better. Honestly, my only problem with these is the waistband. Old ones had a perfect waistband-this one kind of digs into your waist. Overall, they’re pretty comfortable but I have no idea why they changed this. They also do seem to be somewhat shorter. Not a big problem but again, there was no need for the change.
Give me old waistband and the .5" back!
I totally agree with ShaunaA. "Please go back to old design!" They also were my favorite shorts! Now they are shorter by .5 inch, the waistband isn't even comfortable. I am so disappointed.
Bad upgrade on good old shorts
Absolutely ruined these shorts with a bad new waistband! No one asked for the bad upgrade and we all loved the previous version so why mess it up..l
Used to be perfect
These have been my favorite shorts for years, but they kinda ruined them this year. The waistband sits way too high, and it’s uncomfortable. I’m glad they at least kept the zipper pocket on the outside.
Go back to the old version
Rather have the older version with the wider band. This one just digs into my waist and accentuates a fat roll. The older version was more flattering in the waist. Also prefer the 4.5 inch as opposed to this new one which is only 4 inches.
News Flash: Upgrade? More like downgrade ☹️
They "upgraded" these shorts for the worse. Even a teenie bopper wouldn't wear such revealing shorts. Who knew .5 inches could make all the difference between modesty and being recruited for a nudist colony. I am extremely disappointed, the old shorts were far superior for my activities. Just the patriarchy at it again, making my short shorts even shorter and more useless. There is a glaring crotch seam that would never be flattering on any human being, and a waistband so thin that it that could give anyone a muffin top. These shorts are also so highwaisted I can't even see over them to write this review. Please bring back the old shorts! Please bring back the old shorts! Please bring back the old shorts! Sincerely, A disappointed, dissatisfied, depressed, dubious, customer.
So much worse!!
Unfortunately the “improvements” to the active pursuits 4.5” shirt missed the mark. The fit on these is terrible, the waistband is thinner and not comfortable at all compared to the previous design. The fabric hangs differently and is much less flattering than the cut of the previous version. They look just like every other ill fitting basic athletic short. Please bring back the previous version!
Wear these everyday!
When REI changed the swiftland running shorts, I was devastated. Truly. They were the only shorts that actually fit a curvy body. Then I found these and have six pairs of them. I hope they never change the fit and style of these! They don’t ride up, perfect length, and the waistband is super comfortable, where the waistband on the new version of the swiftland dug in and caused lower back pain.
