Great Computer GPS Watch
I love it the first time I used it! ghis is my first gatmin watch. and the chargjng is like a week depends on your usage. i used this for my cycling ride and the maps is awesome.
Thank you for your review.
Love this watch!
I've had a couple of Garmins in the past and am in love with this watch! The old 920 XT and 910 were great for multisport but the solar charging and the screen are what I love most about this. For being an athlete that maximizes my time out on a course, having solar was important. I just switched back to Garmin from Apple and was nervous about the size difference, but the 42mm felt great and I got used to it in no time. I just wish there were more bright and fun watch band colors available.
Thank you for your review.
So far so good
I originally bought this for my wife, but she thinks it’s too big for her, even though it’s the small. I am still figuring out a lot of the features. I was especially interested in the ski power function for cross country ski training. While the power readings may be usable when averaged over several seconds, they are too unreliable for instantaneous readings. Case in point: Some of the power readings during an easy warm-down after an intense interval session were considerably higher than during the high-effort intervals themselves. I think it is better to rely on the heart rate or even the respiratory rate to gauge your effort if needed.
Thank you for your review.
Inconsistent quality - can't trust this model
Purchased today from Denver Flagship. Had high hopes. Dashed. Watch hung on running EKG app and then invariably within minutes after I powered down and powered back on, again. Most likely a return and replacement would do the trick however my confidence is shaken. If the watch cannot perform right out of the box will the replacement fail too, eventually? What if I am in the field when that happens? For the price of admission, it needs to be perfect out of the box- first time.
Great but didn't last long
I ended up getting the fenix 7S Pro and I did absolutely LOVE it. I only had it for 2 months- excellent condition and it decided to just stop working. I was swimming when it powered off and would not turn back on or take a charge. For investing much more money in this watch, I am very surprised about it not lasting more than 2 months. I am debating on trying another version of Garmin watch, or attempting to try a different fenix 7S Pro, in hopes that it will last longer, considering how much more expensive it is from others.
Feminine aesthetic with more life than the new 8S
I am a huge fan of the Fenix and the 7S does not disappoint. I really like the UX, the level of customization by sport, and the integration with other apps (i.e. Strava). As a smaller, female ultra runner, I also like the size and the aesthetic. The other smaller watches Garmin offers aren't for adventure, or ultra distances. They have short battery life of about 9 hours. If you go with the Enduro, you have a gigantic watch that won't fit most female wrists and a dreary color. The Fenix seems to hit the sweet spot between a more feminine look and an a serious watch. On that note - I'd get the 7S over the new 8S. For some reason, Garmin decreased the GPS battery life in the 8 and you only get about 28 hours per their specs. The 7S lasts 36. That still isn't long enough for most of my races, which have 40 cutoffs. But I'll take every extra minute of battery power I can get and upping the price while lowering battery life doesn't make sense. So, if you are a smaller runner, or want a serious, but more feminine looking watch, this is for you!
Great features but not intuitive
Love my new watch but taking a lot of time to figure it out. Definitely not intuitive like Apple, and instructions are poor. Have to upload an addition app called garmin IQ. Even after I’ve still not figured out how to upload music. It’s take hours to figure it out. I’m not a techy person so I find it frustrating. User manual mediocre at best. You’d think that “I upload garmin IQ app” woidonnenoromjently written upon opening the watch, but nope! Once I get it figured out I think I will love it. But garmin has not been good at making things easy to figure out.
Thank you for your review.
Great upgrade from Venu 3 - great features
I'm very happy I bought the Fenix 7s Pro Solar. I thought I might not like the MIP screen compared to the Venu 3s. I have no problem reading the MIP screen. The Fenix has more online data. I also like that I can put it on airplane mode at night to reduce EMF - a feature not available for the Venu. It fits my 5 1/2 inch wrist well. I thought it might be uncomfortable. With the Ultra Fit Nylon band (a bit overpriced) that I bought, the watch stays in place, it's very comfortable, and a bit lighter.
Thank you for your review.
Expensive, poor features, clumsy to use
I figured since garmin had been doing navigation for decades they would make a smartwatch that could navigate-no luck. The maps are so poor that they don't even include the street I live on (it is a public road). To plot a trip you have to set up a course but after creating a course on my computer it wouldn't upload to my watch and it still couldn't navigate to an address. So for what I wanted it for the watch is pretty much useless. Save some money and get an apple watch
Thank you for your review and experience with the fenix 6S Pro Solar. We would like to discuss this further over email. If you would please email us at product.support@garmin.com.
Way Better Than A Fitbit!
I've had a Fitbit for like 10 years or more... The fenix is in a class of its own. There are so many breakdowns for your activities, so many features, the flashlight is such a cool piece (4 different brightnesses, and a red light!). It charges in the sun, it's totally customizable for you and your activities. Every day I learn a new feature I wasn't aware of. Would highly recommend this watch to anyone who likes to do adventures outside! Well worth the money for the quality.
