Boating, Scuba, and other sporting activities
Very happy with this watch. Both scuba, boat electronics, and trolling motor integration is what sold me. InReach feature gives me redundant satellite emergency response out on the water. Unexpected surprise in the effectiveness and convenience of the led flashlight. Can’t forget about the amazing battery life.
The best Gadget
I’ve been using Garmin for about 15 years and I love the brand's products, but honestly, this watch exceeded all my expectations—whether at sea, at the gym, or during day-to-day activities like finding my car in a huge parking lot. It has become my most-used gadget; I wear it all day long and I love it. Honestly, I recommend it to everyone.
Pro os Right!
This might be the best watch on the market for an outdoor enthusiast! I love the customization and options
Love the SOS
Love the watch and embracing the learning curve coming from Apple Watch.
Great Watch and Display Wish List
Overall, I think this is a great watch. Two things I wish it had are 1) The ability to control how long the second hand displays (more than 15 seconds) and 2) how long the bright display stays bright. I realize one is trading battery life for display time and I would like to have knowledge of the display impacts and make the decision myself. I am an EMT and need several minutes of bright display and a second hand.
Great watch for offshore!
Top notch watch. Had it a few weeks and still learning what all it can do. Big feature is the Garmin SOS with satellite connectivity. If you fish offshore its about a "Must Have" item for those far days out on the water where you leave cell phone coverage. Basically a wrist mounter EPirb. Also will connect to your Garrmin chart plotter and auto pilot
Finding lots of uses
This watch is packed with features. I keep finding new things everyday. I purchased for the inreach messenger but I am enjoying all the other uses. It shows in the description that it connects to your chart plotter but I still have now been able to connect. Quick research show you may need to purchase another subscription.
Glitches.
It has great features. It has failed a couple Of times when I try to use the messenger Function. Last night it shut down for two hours.
Premium Watch with Incredible Potential.
I recently purchased the Garmin Quatix 8 Pro, and overall I’m genuinely impressed with the device. The build quality is outstanding — it feels extremely solid, premium, and clearly designed for demanding environments. Battery life is on another level compared to what I was used to, and the amount of data and metrics it provides is incredibly detailed and useful. Coming from many years using the Apple Watch , the transition has been interesting. Garmin definitely excels in areas like durability, outdoor functionality, and independence from daily charging. This is a watch built for performance and reliability. That said, there are a few areas where I believe Garmin can still improve to make the experience more refined: - The system fluidity could be smoother. At times, navigation through menus doesn’t feel as responsive as expected for a device at this price point. - Notifications should be smarter. For example, the watch should not send or trigger notifications when it’s not being worn. - Sleep mode could benefit from more flexibility. It would be great to have the option to use sleep tracking without requiring a fixed schedule, allowing the watch to adapt more dynamically to real-life routines. Even with these points, I’m very satisfied with the purchase. Garmin offers a different philosophy compared to Apple — less about polish, more about performance and functionality — and for many users, that’s exactly what matters. With a few software refinements, this could easily be one of the best smartwatches on the market.
