Love the shoes. But REIs stock on this at sale price seems to include a large volume of used shoes. I was sent used shoes twice. I ordered from REI on a slight sale. They came used with insoles covered in dog hair. They sent a replacement pair, and again used, this time insoles had short pet hair on it. The chat offered an insulting 10% discount. 2 chances to get it right, 70 min across both chats and 2 weeks in and 10%. back and forth with marginal push to 20%. Which is 10% of other sales b/c int he 2 weeks other places dropped prices. So they did not offer a good resolution. Incredibly disappointing in REI service on this one.
I'm using these for easy to temp runs and really happy with them. They have a lot of foam, but the foam is more springy feeling that soft. These feel firmer than max cushion runners. They were easy to go for a long run right out of the box and didn't need a break-in period. The upper is a sock-like material that is very conformable. The flip-side of that is they don't give a tight lock down like some shoes, especially trail runners, give. Likewise, the shoes have zero hotspots for me and I could wear them all day if these weren't my dedicated runners. I really hope they don't change the design next year!
I love almost everything about these shoes. They manage to be both cushiony and supportive. My stride feels light and unencumbered, while the fit is secure without feeling restrictive. I have fairly flat feet, and have a Morton's neuroma in my right foot. Amazingly, in these shoes, there is NO PAIN. My ONLY COMPLAINT is that no matter how I lace the shoes, the tongue - in both shoes - slides sideways. Every time I wear them. Not a deal breaker, but it bugs me.
I got the Nova blast in the lilac color to train for my half. This is my first pair of asics shoes. I love the color, very neutral. Definitely more lilac than gray. I didn't think I needed to break them in so my first run with them was a 3 mile run. They didn't hurt my feet but felt some friction. The second time was better and the shoes has been great since then. Very bouncy, which is what I was looking for. It is true size. I am a true 7.5, decided to go for this and the shoe fits perfectly. Loving it so far.
Gift from my husband who works at REI. These shoes were to replace my Asics Noosa, which were getting worn. I really hate the Novablast and find them to be inferior. When I decide to get up and out the door, I don't have time to sit down and bother with my shoes. Now, I have to locate and pull up a swatch of fabric that is suppose to be the tongue but wiggles it's way down and then lace the shoes. The soles spread like marshmallows and they are easy to step and trip on. I would like to return these shoes.
I haven't done really long runs in them, but up to 7-8 miles they have been very comfy! not too heavy, great for everyday steady runs. took them on vacation where I did lots of walking, again, very comfy. I'm usually a Saucony girl, but these Asics deliver!
I haven’t purchased ASICS in a decade but I tried these out along side a pair of Salomon’s and Hoka’s. The ASICS won out just by the way they felt on my feet. I hiked in them today, and they were equally awesome.
I wear a Women's size 6. When I walk, the footbed supports my feet, and I won't feel the hard floor; for healthcare, people may walk 12 hours a shift; this is well-designed and lightweight. Navy upper and a color bottom, which I like. Yet, a more extended tongue, little wilder toe boxes, and the whole bottom 1/4 inch thicker would make it perfect.
I have tried many shoes over the years, but these are head and shoulders above the rest. They're comfortable, responsive and hands-down the best shoes I've worn on runs. I'm working on 10k and 15k times, and these have shaved a lot off of my per mile pace. I cannot recommend them enough! I look forward to needing another pair. :)
I’m a new long distance runner so I have little experience with other shoes. However, these shoes are amazing!! I was having a lot of hip and knee pain with my previous shoes and these just did the trick. So much cushion/support without it feeling “squishy.”
