Great Sunglasses, good sound.

Essential part of my daily run. Great sound (albeit without a ton of bass). Better sound and style than the Bose Tempos.

Two dead pairs in two months

These are great... when they work! My first pair failed after around 2 months. The left side went to static, then disconnected, and the glasses wouldn't charge or respond to any button presses. They have a 2 year warranty, so I filed a claim, which Shokz stated would be responded to within 2 business days. After 2 weeks, multiple emails, and chatting with customer service, they finally approved the claim and sent a replacement pair. That pair lasted less than 2 rides! This time, the right side went dead initially, then everything. I've filed a second warranty claim and am waiting to hear back. During the time I have gotten to use them, it is really nice to be able to listen to music or a podcast during rides. Though on descents, even at max volume the wind noise will wash out any sound. It's nice to be able to pause with one button touch. But some podcasts just don't work at all--if the voice isn't deep enough or there are several different voices and pitches you can't follow it. I do really like having the audio warnings from my Garmin Varia radar, which is paired to my phone, right there in my ear. I'm hoping my 2nd warranty claim gets processed quickly and for some reason the 3rd time's the charm.

Three Strikes Is an Out

Bought to replace my beloved Bose Frames which I broke and are no longer manufactured. These look great, sound decent, and has decent controls. But. First pair lasted two rides before not charging. Exchanged them. Second pair lasted one ride before not charging. Went to exchange them again. At that point, my wife said stop this. You are being an idiot. I said that these glasses would not be a viable product if they all failed to work. Third pair lasted five rides before not charging. My wife is correct - I was an idiot for continuing to exchange these. Am done with them and will find a different set of Bluetooth sunglasses for cycling. Note that the charging system is a dual magnetic charger. Maybe the charger is defective, but because those are not readily available there is no way to simply swap that out.

Worth the price

I have used my pair of Shokz Roadwave for several weeks now for both running and road cycling. I bought them as a replacement for Shokz (formerly Aftershokz) Revvez, which I had for close to 5 years and that used a different form of bone-conduction sound transmission technology. If you're considering audio-enabled sunglasses, these are the ones you want. Where other companies' products merely put speakers or earbuds in the arms, the bone-conduction technology used in Shokz RoadWaves provides clear, powerful sound that still leaves your ears open to hear traffic and other critical environmental noise. The design of the RoadWave is a significant improvement over the design of the Revvez, and as a result, the RoadWave provides much clearer sound at high environmental volumes than its predecessor-- I can often still hear clearly the podcasts or audiobooks I listen to most often even when blasting down a hill on my bike in excess of 35 mph. The frames are lightweight, snug but comfortable, and provide wide field-of-vision coverage. The sound quality does tend to be a little bass-heavy, likely by design to provide additional clarity at high speed; this trait means that although the bone-conduction sound transmission allows ear-safe listening at higher volumes-- so says my spouse, a professor of speech pathology-- it's best to turn the audio down when listening at low speeds for a cleaner sound experience. As with all Shokz products, the RoadWave has an excellent battery life; I've only had to charge them once since purchase, and managed at least 8, maybe up to 10, hours of listening on a single charge. The only two drawbacks to the Shokz RoadWave are that they do not include an orange or red lens for mixed light conditions, and they are not designed to accommodate a prescription lens adapter (although they are large enough that a smaller pair of prescription glasses might fit under them). But these are both minor. The Shokz RoadWave sunglasses are an excellent performance accessory, well worth the price.

Quit working after just 11 months of moderate use.

I bought these to use while exercising. They are okay as long is it’s not too windy outside. With wind, you can barely hear the music. The worst part was, these lasted less than a year before they quit working altogether and would not recharge. When I pay over $200 for a pair of headphones, I expect them to work for more than a year. I would not recommend these to anyone. Great concept, but shoddy execution and low quality product.
