Stay safe out there
We do a lot of sledding and snow tubing as a family. Problem is the slope gets icy and fast real quick. I usually make the kids wear their skate helmets. Recently My husband started wear his hockey helmet i was just wearing my wool cap and my parka hood drawn tight. I began to get worried i was going to get a concussion after watching my husband wipe out and seeing his helmeted head make contact with the frozen snow. I found the smith counter and it is awesome.protects the ears and head and keeps me warm. I have wiped out once and it kept me safe
Normal Helmet, difficult to hear, huge gap behind goggles
Why does the outlet open so far back? I have a Giro helmet and Carrera goggles that are 15 years old that fit better than this. There's a huge gap between the back of the goggles and the front of the outlet, even Smith goggles which are supposedly made to fit Smith helmets. It makes my face cold and lets air in under the goggles. Like I said, I had 15 year old equipment before and I've never felt air moving under the goggles in my eyes... until this now.
Sizing inconsistency
I have no idea how good this helmet is. I had to switch it out with a Smith Vantage (which I love). XL on the Vantage is different than the XL of the Counter.
Great fit
Thrilled with the look and fit of my new helmet. It’s a replacement after a fall and I appreciated the MIPS support then and now.
Used for GS. More comfortable
Used for GS. More comfortable than my soft non-FIS helmet.
