Loved It So Much I Bought A Second
After trying on most of Smith's <$200 MIPS helmets, I found the Altus to fit my head the best and to be the most comfortable. The fleece that lines the ear pads are particularly soft on this model. Unfortunately, after only five days of used, I had pretty rough crash, flipping and hitting my head multiple times. Walked away with broken goggles and very minor symptoms that resolved within a few days and I'm very happy I had this helmet on when I fell. The helmet was effective and comfortable enough that I used SMITH's crash replacement policy to purchase the exact same helmet. The color I chose also benefits High Fives Foundation which was a nice bonus.
NEVER IN 30 YEARS! Awful ear pain
HURTS EARS!!! Was on ski lift & saw a guy wearing same helmet, asked how he liked his new and identical helmet. He said his ears hurt, too!! Awful pain and discomfort for a ski trip. Such a disappointment.
