Funny fit, probably quite warm

The fabric feels like it would be quite warm despite being a lower rated weight. The articulation and venting look well placed. However, the fit doesn't work for me. The waist is quite high and the length goes well below my calves, which puts it well inside my ski boot. Even if you are not concerned with the extra fabric inside your ski boot, I don't see the point of a 3/4 length that only exposes your achilles and ankles. It's possible that this runs a little large and I should be in a medium. However, I'm a solid large. Overall I really like smartwool, but this one needs to go back to the drawing board.

perfect for skiing

I got these along with the intraknit tops for skiing. I’m particular about base layers, because they are, after all, what is actually touching your skin while you ski. These are everything you need - comfortable, warm, breathable, and flexible. I also appreciate the boot cut. I hate bunching up base layers above my boots. For me, the large size fits perfectly, with the end of the leg sitting exactly above my boots (for reference I’m 6 feet tall, waist size 34)

Waistband sits way too high, sags in the crotch making very uncomfortable. Also can't machine dry.
