Makes Hiking and Home Improvements Easier
The cut and fabric of these Dovetail overalls are super comfortable and downright cozy. We have had a cold spring here, and the overalls have been very durable on both my medium and long hikes. The plethora of pockets includes a four pocket bib and a hip clip pocket - pure heaven for all of the stuff I carry with me. I am moving so I have been painting furniture and cleaning and these are ideal for bending and squatting while working on home improvements. One of my neighbors commented on the indigo stripes - very cool vibe. I highly recommend for buyers who want total comfort for an active lifestyle. This style runs big so I would size down.
Product failure
These are the third pair of dovetails I have had due to the broken side grommets. I’ve had this pair for 2.5 months and the buckle broke. I typically wear Patagonia overalls and have had no issue with wear and tear on them over the years. I’ve been gentle with these knowing they aren’t built as strong, but they are being sold as “work wear”. As much as I love the fit haven’t been worth the hassle. I’m hopeful to get a refund for the rodeo this has been. I don’t know if these parts are being sourced locally, they seem to be flimsy.
Too small
Based on size chart I would be size 14 but ordered a 16 because I wanted to be able to wear leggings underneath, and like coveralls to fit looser for easier movement when doing yard work. The 16 is quite slim fitting even before washing. Regretfully must return and order a larger size elsewhere. Nice product otherwise.
Comfortable and Versitile
These are a great pair of overalls. They are so comfortable, the material durable but moves well and lets me bend and move with ease. I love all the pockets, especially the pen pocket in the back! I worry about the color being light but the dirt and grass stains that I've accumulated over the first few wears came out with no problems in a heavy duty wash cycle. I have a long torso and short legs, I loved that these came with multiple inseam lengths. I have the 30" inseam and might have been able to go shorter but I was worried about going too short. I just roll the bottoms and they work fine.
Just ok, they run small
I am 5’4” 115 pounds, the sizing chart says I should be a 2. The 2 fit bit were very, very slim. I would not have wanted to be working out in the garden in hot weather having the slim legs sticking to me. So I ended up with the 4. Which would be fine if the shoulder straps could go shorter. They are fine everywhere except they hang down in the crotch just a bit too much. I got the 30 length and washed them yesterday (after working in the garden) they shrunk up about 1/2 an inch. I probably should have bought the longer length. I wish the shoulder straps could go shorter, even all the way up the straps are still a bit long. I gave them 3 stars because I felt they are just ok. They will be fine for the garden. I got a pair of the Duluth Trading company Rootstock gardening overalls which are very similar to the Dovetail, I had to return them because even the size extra small was too big/too long. I was so bummed because they felt better made over all and they were cheaper.
Great design…for shorter folks
I really like these overalls, and have had them for years, but I have them in the longest strap setting possible and still they are too short for my 5’9 frame. If they ever make a longer inseam I’ll absolutely love them. I am typically a size 6 (sometimes 4) and have the 8 in these. They fit snug but with enough room for a pair of long Johns or a hoodie underneath.
Great for urban and trail hiking!
These overall are stylish, comfortable, and functional! I have been wearing these for my daily urban dog walks and for weekend trail hiking. They are soft and comfortable, but also tough and functional with multiple pockets for stashing everything you need on your adventures. They are also easy to clean up - washing machine friendly and look and feel great after many wears and washes. Nice quality. I want to buy another pair in a different color.
Size down and you'll be golden.
Designed by women for women. These are fantastic overalls that get the job done. We're in the midst of building a tiny home and these have all the features that I need to feel confident doing the work. There are multiple pockets, durable material, extra fabric panel on the knees and more. These also run large and it has been advised to size down. I'm 5'0, 120 lbs, and normally a size 2. I ordered a size 0 and I still have plenty of room.
Love These
I bought these for gardening, and I love them. They're comfortable with just enough stretch to allow squatting and movement.
Comfortable and Durable
Very comfortable. These overalls fit true to size, but are fitted in the legs, so I would suggest sizing up if you want a looser fit. Fabric has a slight stretch but very durable. Work great for running errands and working in the yard. Really enjoy the stripped pattern and all the pockets. Easy to wash.
