Awesome bike for commuting or touring
Great bike for the road. Even in Eco mode the power assist is noticeable. The next level is Tour and I used it once riding up the mouth of a local canyon and was passing non-ebike riders churning their way the road. Honestly, the bike coasts so easily and the gear ratios are enough without the power for most of my rides. I use the power when going up hills or when I start to get tired after a longer ride. The bike is solid, well built with great gear control, brakes, and a very comfortable ride over bumps. I did have to take it back to REI to have the rear derailleur adjusted when it started skipping gears, after about 120 miles. One drawback that takes getting used to is the weight. At 55lbs it can be awkward when loading or unloading if the weight shifts, mounting was tricky at first but I soon figured it out. The weight can be a factor when stopping because the bike rides so smoothly your travel speed rises unnoticed, if your not careful an unexpected quick stop may be challenging -- this is why I recommend roads. Use caution if you are riding on paved trails with blind corners and viaducts, the bike doesn't turn well in tight spots.
Awesome !
After a month of daily commuting, (36 mile round trip), I have been impressed with the bike. Bosch power is smooth and natural . Battery life is impressive , 2 of 5 bars for the 36 miles in the Turbo setting. Ghost build quality is really nice and solid. Overall I am really happy with my purchase.
Quality Ride at a Reasonable Price
I bought this to augment my recovery from bilateral total knees and a back surgery and it’s quality and ease of use are a delight. The drive system is apparently fairly efficient as I have about 50 miles on it with 3/5 of the battery capacity remaining. It pedals quite easily with the boost completely shut off and it powers up hills easily in turbo mode. The owners manual is a bit light on details for using the control module but the controls are fairly intuitive to figure out. For the price and a first time e-bike purchase, I have no regrets.
Should have done this YEARS ago!
This bike is amazing. Great handling, motor, looks. Very comfortable. Gets me to work and home in no time - good exercise for the commute and still presentable at the job!
Has needed constant repairs
I bought this bike four months ago to reduce my need to drive a car. Unfortunately, it has required me to drive extensively back and forth to the REI for repairs. The electric motor and battery are very helpful, but the cost thus far (in time and money) for every mile ridden on this bike has been ridiculously high. A better idea might have been to buy multiple non-electric bicycles for the same amount of money, allowing for backups and more specialized bicycling.
Great Little Ebike
This was a great little bike for the price. Esp once I used a volspeed hack to get rid of the stupid speed limit so I owned the bike and did not rent it.....
