Try something (maybe anything) else
Honestly pretty disappointed with this product. The power button/switch between modes was always difficult to operate. For charging, I often had to unplug and replug it in multiple times before it would work. Still, the batteries would die once a month after only 2-3 uses (I mostly ride during the day). Finally, the rear light completely stopped working within less than a year, after no damage whatsoever. I thought going the expensive Bontrager move was the right route but apparently not. Going with something much cheaper and much brighter next time... Hard to believe anything could be less reliable.
Favorite Bike Lights
I love these things. They are about the smallest lights you can get, which makes them look great on any bike. With other lights, I feel the need to take them off my bike when it gets light out or I'm not using them because they're so big and ugly - with these, that's not the case! They're meant for daylight riding, but I use mine for early morning and evening rides as well. Not a ton of light for complete darkness, but I put two of these front lights on and bam! I really don't want another type of bike light than these. The strap is also extremely durable and easy to use. Strapping it on simply doesn't get easier than with these and I now hate every other strap system on other lights.
Garbage
Garbage, lost within 2 weeks because the light so easily comes apart from where it attaches to bike, complete waste of money.
Front light fell off on in the first week
The clip that holds them on is useless. I feel stupid for throwing away money on these and I can’t understand how these can be sold at REI and for this price. They really just slide to the side as an attachment. Also, separate from the attachment, the lights are useless for daytime lights in the city. They are too discreet for any vehicles who aren’t directly in front or behind you, so at intersections, these offer no visibility to cars across from you because of the way the light projects. Other lights have less of a linear light path and it provides much more visibility to cars who aren’t directly in front of or behind you.
NO WAY TO PUT IT: JUST JUNK- and that's being nice
The front light is just junk! I received this as a Christmas gifts, so I started it using it this spring. The front light falls off on every ride. I ride a road bike. Trek's answer was to buy another attachment band. $4.99 plus 9.99 shipping. I could get free shipping if I drove across town to pick it up at their local dealer. I foolishly did this. One ride later, the light quit working entirely. I actually read the reviews before asking Santa for this particular combination. I thought surely in 3 years Bontrager would have fixed this issue. It's obvious that they don't care. Done with them!
Lost tail light after 2 rides
We took a gravel road which was a little bumpy and lost a tail light last night. The lights illuminate great but not if the straps don’t hold them in. I checked them all when I purchased and you had to push button to release when new but after a few weeks it looks like the straps loosen and now it’s easy to slide lights off the strap. I will return and look for a more secure set up.
Great until it wasn't.
I love the attachment, operation and charging simplicity. Until the switch stopped working...I guess it's good the light was on, but sure didn't last long...wish the switch had held up better...just over a year old, well taken care of.
great light fell off
I bought this a month ago and didn’t get to use it because it fell off my bike when it was on the back of my car as I was driving a paved road to the trail. Kinda bummed. Wonder if I can get a new one.
These are a rip off
They work fine but the build quality if absolutely terrible. The straps/light mounts wore down within 2 months of light usage (biking to/from work, 20 minutes each way, easy riding) and both lights fell off their mounts. I was able to salvage one but the other could not be reattached at all. For $70 (seventy dollars!) you can find a much better light that will not give up under super forgivable conditions
works well but falls off the bike
I found them compact, easy to use and effective...till the front one fell off the bike. the mount is poorly designed and the small lights are easy to lose quickly.
