Item quality has declined immensely. The taillight when properly affixed refuses to remain seated. When I reached down to turn it on while commuting home tonight it was gone, leaving me compromised in metropolitan area traffic. I hope this oversight warrants a refund or store credit because replacement would be unacceptable.
Purchased this “kit” or “bundle” when I purchased my bike from REI. I will not lie, they are great lights. I have no real complaints but one…. The head light is HORRIBLE in cold weather conditions, and I mean horrible. I use the head light on medium to high mode since I transit around town. I understand those modes will chew down a battery faster than on low. But this is what I know…. I appreciate the metal body of the headlight, makes it durable. But shoot does it make “cold snapping” the battery easy as can be. When the temps were above 40 degrees, the light would last easily a week. Now with the cold setting in, I might get two to three days of use at best. What I find interesting is that the tail light on high beats out the headlight, and this is literally due to the body of the tail light being a plastic housing. I know this is really not much of an issue for most, and I know it’s on me to start bringing the headlight Indoors when I stop somewhere due to the cold. But it’s interesting to me no one has mentioned this issue with the headlight.
