I bought this light has a headlamp for trail riding specifically to control with my Garmin Edge 1040 head unit. I hoped it would be easier to turn on and off and change modes when climbing and go full power on descents. Also thought it would be easier to attach and remove from my helmet than my current wired helmet light and I was going to forgo some brightness for the convivence. Sadly It just won't pair so will be going back. It did seem to pair at first but disconnected and no amount of deleting and re-adding would work. Note, both lights paired with my Fenix watch but that is useless to me.
These have problems with their micro-USB ports. I purchased the Ion Pro RT and Flare RT separately. Both work alright for a little while but then. even with the provided micro-USB cables, or any others, they take some wiggling and finagling to begin charging. This process gets worse over time to the point where they won't charge. I ended up buying a replacement Flare RT and it didn't take long for that to end up like the others. Too much money to try again.
