Bummed on quality.

I bought this in anticipation of a rainy camping trip. While tying down in a downpour, the loop on the opposite side tore out, pulling the stitching along the length of the tarp. Otherwise, it's a great size and worked well to shelter us from the elements- you may just need to take it easy when securing it.

NOT a beach shelter, good for only light wind/rain

I was done destroying a pop-up tent every year so, I began looking at other options for a beach sun shelter. I researched tons of beach tent/shelters and after reading many reviews and watching all the videos, I purchased this tarp and the Kelty poles. I am sad to say that this product did not work on a windy beach. We tried all configurations (with the recommended Kelty extendable poles, set-up into the wind, with 5 gallon buckets filled full of sand as anchors) and had multiple experienced people helping and we were still unsuccessful. It was however, successful as a shelter over the hot tub and as a rain/sun shelter for camping (with little wind).

Huge Tarp Great Price

This tarp is Huge. It can be used as a solar shade, Shelter for a Hammock, A Tent. All depends on how you set it up. I got the Tarp on sale for under 60 bucks after discounts and shipping. Could not beat the price. I read a lot of negative reviews which was about its waterproofing. So I used Silicon Camp Dry and coated the top before I even needed to use it in wet conditions. Picked up some poles and when Rain hit while I was cleaning my Garage I was able to string it up and deflect heavy downpour from Ruining my stuff. Not one drop of moisture. I always never trust Factory Waterproofing. I always recoat my products after buying. This has saved me more times than I can count. Without adding the waterproofing I would still give 5 stars for this item. At the price and size it is perfect.

Nice but tore easily

It was awesome until it ripped, big time crossways. It’s just trash now. Sad cause we really liked it.

Love this tarp!

This tarp is awesome! Broke it in last weekend, camping in Gifford Pinchot, received about an inch of rain and we stayed dry. Glad we had a couple hours before the rain started to figure out the best configuration though (total tarp n00bs)!

I have two of these in two sizes. The are great.

I have had a smaller one for years and bought the 16' 4 years ago. I camp and kayak 60 nights per year out of my Jeep. I carry 2 telescoping poles in a kayak (have also used paddles) to keep 2 sides higher. tie other to trees (with soft straps around the trees. These are so versatile and the wind and rain don't affect them. The shape holds them down in the rain. On my older one I had to re-enforce the corner tabs, but that was easy. These are great to set up to cover a picnic table a t a campground when you are car camping and staying a few days. Great to sit under when you have days of rain. I have 3 North Face and 2 Marmot tents, and would not go without this tarp. Get a big one and you will never camp the same.

Great tarp, I used it once at a festival, held up to high winds, used 4 rei 10ft poles as tie downs and worked out great.
