Perfect Winter Expedition Cook Tent
The MSR Front Range is a perfect winter expedition cook tent. I've put mine to use on two separate Alaska Range trips and it hasn't let me down. The reinforced top prevents the pole from spearing through, even when it's loaded with snow and soaking wet. The mid-point guy line attachments are a huge upgrade over some other brands for keeping it upright in the wind. Plenty big enough for 4 men to cook and relax inside while hiding from the elements.
Great below treeline winter solution!
Incredibly light and packable, room for 3 comfortably with boot/pack storage. Also makes for a luxurious cook tent. I love that it sets up with your skis and ski poles.
Design and Function Great; Color Obnoxious
The tent itself is great. 5/5. The color is obnoxious. 1/5. Overall 3/5 overall, just due to the color. Would be 5/5 if we could get the green version in the US (seems MSR only sells the green version internationally).
