This stove is solidly OK. It's crazy light and very small. It works for its intended purpose very well, but its intended purpose is only to boil water. Don't expect to do any sort of simmer control with this. The biggest downside to this stove is that what you get for its compact size and weight, you lose in that you likely need to carry an extra fuel canister. I can really only get two days out of a 4oz canister - boiling enough water for a dehydrated dinner & cup of coffee/oatmeal in the morning each day. For a fast and light one/two night trip, I would recommend this. For a long weekend or more, I'd probably want something else.
This stove is super light and compact while providing high output. Awesome piece of gear to add to any backpackers cooking quiver, keeping things light and practical.
This is a powerful stove that rapidly boils water. It's so compact the entire kit (stove, 100 G canister fuel, lighter) can easily fit inside the Olicamp Space Saver Mug for storage and transportation. This is a great set up to have when canyoneering, ice climbing, rock climbing, or any other adventuring. It's also a good kit to keep in your car as it takes up a very small amount of space and is simple to use. I will continue recommending the Olicamp Ion stove to friends.
Love this stove for backpacking. I've even used it in an emergency kit on day trips and up on alpine climbs. It packs so small and so light that it's never an issue or hassle to bring along. I use it with the Olicamp Space Saver Mug as a small, UL cook kit. Solid product.
I love this stove. I pair it with an esbit pot and lid for a total system weight of 4.34 oz before fuel. The pot serves as my bowl and coffee mug as well. Perfect for Mountain House pro packs and similar meals. It’s a little wind sensitive, but nothing building a little wind block can’t solve at moderate levels.
This thing is super small super lightweight takes up no space when you have it on low to medium it emits a nice flame from all 6 ports . but when you turn it up to high it flows so fast that the flame only comes out of three out of the six ports.. at that point it literally cuts the size of the flame dead in half... Good for boiling water fast or starting a fire that's all I can see it doing...
This is the perfect compact, lightweight, and functional stove I’ve ever used on the trail. I used my Ion Micro titanium on our Appalachian hike in Vermont, and this stove delivered. It heats up water very quickly and fits in your pocket!
I had one stolen bought another one. Solid, reliable microburner. Flame is adjustable, but it's not totally linear, never leave unattended. Basically, you can boil water, flame is so fine, its not really suitable for much cooking. Great for light weight backpacking and reconstituting meals.
I love this stove for backpacking trips! I have other stove configurations, but this is my go-to ultralight set-up. I combine it with an Olicamp space saver mug and can fit the stove, 100g fuel canister, and lighter all in one mug! It does have a small surface area, so while great for 1 person backpacking it would not be a good fit for a group of people. I've taken it on every backpacking trip since I received it, and it has held up splendidly!
Easy to screw on fuel canister, predictable lighting and flow control.
