I've owned every kind of hiking burner you can imagine. While lacking Scientific rigor- no graphs and Laboratory Instruments- sorry to disappoint, I assure you based on anecdotal experience this stove works fine. It does indeed boil water in a reasonable time, even with a little wind by God! I would have preferred a micro burner, but it will do in a pinch and the price is good. Small detail, the tote bag seems highly flammable? It's not a deal breaker.
This stove is definitely light, weighing about one ounce less than several other existing stoves. It’s also aesthetically elegant. However, in the field I’ve found it to be very susceptible to most any breeze, and to have quite poor flame control.
My favorite stove. I switched from a JetBoil to this, and I love how light it is. It works really well for its price and weight. It packs down very small and fits inside a Toaks 750 ml pot (Maybe fits in the 500ml too, I just havent tried it). I will admit, I do not have experience with the Pocket Rocket. The pros of this stove are that it is extremely lightweight, and that it works pretty well. The cons: the flame control is a bit finicky. It seems there is either no fire or a ton of fire, so I have to be very careful throttling the valve. The other con is in regards to wind. My JetBoil spoiled me here. This stove does not do well in the wind, but that can be mitigated fairly eaisly. In all, I much prefer this stove due to its light weight, but it is not perfect.
I was impressed by the price, and it's worked great so far. I was at first worried about the loose joints, but after the first use they tightened up. Pretty decent little backpacking stove
