One Stop Pot

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Jetboil gave me this product for free to try, and I received the Jetboil TrailCook 2.0L. I took it up to Mammoth, CA for the weekend and it performed amazingly well. The overnight lows were around 20°F, and the stove lit immediately with no issues. The build quality feels sturdy and well made. One feature I really liked is the new ignition knob. It works just like a stove knob at home, which makes it super easy to use. It also gives you great temperature control, so you don’t have to worry about burning your food. The water boiled incredibly fast, even in cold conditions. The lid has built-in straining slits, which made cooking pasta really convenient. My partner and I were also impressed by how much food the 2.0L pot can hold, perfect for cooking for 2 or more people. Despite the larger capacity, the system is still lightweight and packable, which makes it a great option for backpacking or weekend adventures. I definitely recommend this product. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Great multipurpose on the go travel stove

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stove is quite versatile for adventuring when weight is not a big concern. I would not take it backpacking, but I would take it car camping, kayak/canoe camping, rafting, and on other trips where I am not counting grams. It was easy to toss in the car to make hot cocoa after a cooler weather mountain bike ride. I could see using it on ski.resort days to heat up food/drinks at the car as well. I debated between the two sizes. If you want something more compact, I would go with the smaller version of the pot, however the 2.0L version is still compact and gives you a bit more flexibility. Boil time for a full pot of water on a cool evening outside was around 4 minutes. Fuel use seems very similar to other Jetboil stoves. I have not had a chance a to put it to the test with a full fuel canister and back to back days of use over several days yet. The ignitor was flawless and starts within 1-3 clicks every time. Jetboil put a protective piece around the ignitor, which should help keep it functioning long term (my old GCS stove had the ignitor replaced 2x). The one disappointing thing was that the medium fuel canister does not fit in the stove packed with the burner. I will plan to pack fuel separately and pack my two stacking mugs inside for transport. The entire stove and parts feel very durable and well made. The unit seemed stable with a medium fuel tank. I did not feel the need to use the orange stabilizer feet, but would with a smaller fuel tank. The lid pours water out the slots really well and the orange tabs for your fingers are spot on - great idea! The bottom design keeps the pot where it should be on the stove with no locking to the stove base like some other Jetboil models. I tested out a different pan on the burner and it seemed stable enough and unlike other Jetboil models, you don't need the converter piece to put a different non Jetboil pan on the stove. Jetboil gave me this free product to try. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Quality of life improvement kind of product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Jet Boil gave this free product to try and I loved it. For starters the packing and initial impressions were great. Packaging is sometimes overlooked but I really appreciate when even the box is well designed. It was easy to open and everything was nicely sorted. There is a bag the burner lives in, as to not scratch the non-stick coating in the pot itself. It is clear to me that the designers at Jet Boil use their products. There are thumb pads on the lid so you can dump out boiling water, the handles lock in the folded out position making handling the pot really easy even when it's hot. Everything just kinda worked the way you wanted to. Very intuitive. I was impressed by how quickly the stove was able to boil water too. For the sciency people out there I was able to boil 2 litres of tap cold water in under 7 minutes at sea level. Lighting the burner was easy as can be too. Just turn the dial and boom, you have flame. I think out of the 7 or 8 times I lit the burner it didn't immediately catch on the first go once. I also really like that the lighting mechanism doesn’t require a battery. I feel like it kind of rips through fuel but you're heating up 2 litres of water… it kind of needs to. It did go through less fuel than I was expecting however. Once you’re cooking the unit is extremely stable. The neoprene sleeve does a great job on insulating the pot even when at max temp. I wouldn't recommend grabbing the pot when its boiling but like you could without getting burnt. The base is well secured to the fuel tank and very tip resistant, the pot interfaces very securely into the burner, and the lid fits snugly. I was never worried about spilling or having anything but a pleasant experience. This product will live in my car camping box for the rest of time. Honestly it's great. I feel like there is a lot you can do with this. I made a nice breakfast of eggs and sausage one morning. It was a little tough given the high walls of the pot but we got it done. I would honestly make oatmeal, a stew, or really anything in this pot. I was super impressed. It's not the smallest package but it does fold up nicely. I'm not sure if I would bring this backpacking or on an ultralight mission but for car camping or going out with a large group it's perfect.

Same great setup with a bit more volume!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a great stove for ice climbing with a group. Even on top of a frozen river it was able to get water boiling for hot drinks quickly. Quick and easy to light and stay lit with the wind guard. Well designed seated arms for the pot kept it stable on snow/ice. Packs down to about the same space as the smaller setups given you can stow everything inside. I'll likely just use the Trailcook unless I am really trying to shave grams in a pack. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Classic jetboil but bigger and better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Trail 2L is my go-to for car camping or any time I need to cook for a group. The added simmer function actually allows you to cook food rather than just boil water. Added functions like the pot handles, lid grips, and storage bag make this more practical than most ultralight stoves of this size. It seems to bridge the gap between those looking to backpack with something light but also want to be able to cook for a group and even cook some real food. I will say that the major caveat to their design is the lack of performance in windy environments, when testing in a windy parking lot after of a day of skiing at Mt. Washington we were frustrated to have to keep lighting and relighting the stove. That being said the Jetboil functionality, ie the jet foil and burner design is one of the best on the market and boils faster than you could even hope for, so trade offs can be made. Worth checking out.

Incredibly Fast Boil

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used more primitive solid fuel stoves in the past and have a tiny titanium one that practically folds smaller than a deck of cards that lives in my flight kit for work. They seem wonderful and simple but can be a challenge to light in windy conditions and once you light them, you must let the fuel burn out. This stove is a completely different animal… well engineered to maximize heat recovery from the burner the insulated cook pot has a heat sink and fins on the bottom that surround the burner for incredible heat transfer. The stove is easy to light with the integrated lighter and folding sturdy stand keeps it upright in conditions that would be difficult for my solid fuel stoves. This unit is the largest of the offerings they previewed at 2.0L capacity so while it’s not tiny, is wonderful for car camping which is my intended use. I’ve never seen anything boil water so incredibly fast. I received this product free from Jetboil in exchange for my honest review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tested the Jetboil TrailCooker 2.0L and overall came away really impressed—especially for car camping and short trail use. This system heats water very quickly. From my experience, it brings water to a boil in just a few minutes, which is a huge plus when you’re cooking multiple meals or just want something fast and simple. It’s efficient and consistent. The 2.0L version is definitely better suited for car camping rather than backpacking. It does take up more space than a minimalist setup, but for what you get (capacity + performance), it’s worth it and going into it I knew it would take up more space - and in the case of car camping that wasn’t a worry. I did have a little trouble getting the arms to fold back in when packing but I eventually figured it out. Super easy to light. No issues at all—very reliable ignition every time I used it. This is one of the standout features. It doesn’t require a lot of fuel to get water boiling, which makes it efficient for multiple uses. Great for longer trips where you want to conserve fuel. Very stable and secure when set up. I felt confident cooking on it without worrying about tipping, especially compared to smaller backpacking stoves. This is where it really shines for camping. The larger 2.0L size makes it great for cooking more than just water—perfect for meals, coffee, and group use. I highly recommend this. Jetboil never disappoints. As someone that spends a lot of time camping I think this one of the best systems out there. Jetboil gets its right and I would highly recommend to anyone.

Solid cooking system

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Jetboil gave me this free product to try. Overall I’ve really enjoyed using the Jetboil TrailCook 2.0L Precision. It packs down neatly into itself and feels solid and well-built. It’s a bit bulkier than minimalist setups, but that feels like a fair trade for the added capability—especially since the 2.0L size works well for cooking for 2–4 people. Boil time is still fast, but the biggest upgrade here is the heat control. You can actually simmer and cook real meals instead of just boiling water, which adds a lot of versatility. I made a few more involved dishes and it handled them well. The ceramic nonstick coating is another standout—cleanup in the backcountry is much easier, which makes me more willing to cook real food instead of just going freeze-dried. Lighting the unit is quick and straightforward, and it’s been reliable to get going. It also feels stable and secure while cooking, which is especially important when you’re doing more than just boiling water. The built in handles are also great for this. Because this system is meant for multiple people, it’s worth planning your fuel. Canisters have limited burn time, and if you’re cooking full meals over several days, you’ll likely go through them faster than expected. Compared to liquid fuel stoves like the MSR WhisperLite, which use refillable bottles and can stretch fuel further on longer trips, the Jetboil trades a bit of long-range efficiency for convenience and ease of use. Overall, it’s a great option if you want something that goes beyond basic boil-and-eat meals and offers more flexibility for real cooking. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.
