Great WTB 650b tire for paved road and shoulder
This WTB Horizon 47 came with my new bicycle, so I was not sure what to expect considerinng I had been riding on 23mm skinny tires so long. I was surprized how well they have performed!! Sure footed on variable pavement conditions, with very low rolling resistance for a wide tire. I plan to replace the original tires with the same product when they wear out. Very happy!!
Comfy and Fast but Prone to Flats
Tires came with my new Marin Nicasio+. I ride about a 50:50 ratio gravel to road terrain with some single track mixed in. Overall I have had confidence to push turns on gravel descents, felt plenty fast on tarmac, also very comfortable at eating any bumps I hit. However if you see mud, sand, grass stay clear or take it extra easy. That being said they are slicks so I’m not faulting the tires for that. They get 3 stars for me because one, the tan wall isn't real, it’s just painted that color so there’s no weight savings. More robust? I’d disagree as I’ve had 3 flats riding tubes in <500mi. Rode my bontraegar tires 3k+ miles with only 1 flat with my last bike on similar terrain. I’ll likely be switching to another company of tires rather than WTB.
