Handy for home or trail.
Basically a solid, stable design. It will tip over if you attempt to use it with your phone in portrait orientation and don’t spread the feet out enough. But so far durable and has been very helpful for photography in places without perfect “tripod rocks” and for video conferencing too!

Love Hate Relation!
I love how lightweight this tripod is at 2.5 ounces and how versatile it is on all types of terrains. However, like all the Joby GorillaPods I had, including this one, they are time-consuming to set up, and the balls always brake on me after 1-2 years of light use. This short life could be due to the high elevation and dry climate in which I use it. I had this stand for 2 years and only used it one dozen times, which already broke on me. I haven't found something as versatile and light as this one, but I hate the short life it has. I am seriously looking for something better, but so far, I haven't found it!

Only lasted a few months :(

After a few months, a few of the legs became very loose and flimsy to allow the tripod to stay up for more than a few seconds (i.e not making the function of a tripod). Also one of the legs have come detached many times.

More cumbersome than its worth..

I don’t love this stand.. it’s well built but pretty cumbersome when trying to find balance with lenses attached.. it tips over a lot due to being so light weight and the phone making it top heavy. The included clip Is very generic. The ball joint is somewhat helpful but again, you’ll be trying to bend the legs constantly to find balance... it seems like a neat idea because of its flexibility, however, I’m rarely in a situation that I’ll wrap it around a tree limb or equivalent... I prefer to use the solid Tripod stand that came with my Smooth 4 over this thing. Maybe the larger version would have been the better choice. Not terrible.. Not terrific.

Broke quick, exaggerated holding ability.

It broke after just a few weeks of use at the top joint. it also didnt hold up an iphone in portrait mode without falling over.

Not durable.

This was decent when new and I was able to attach it to tree branches, ski poles, and uneven surfaces were no problem. The clamping mechanism works great for iPhone X and 11. The top swivel is kind of hard to move and isn't very easy for final adjustment. After some time, the cups on the legs developed small cracks which let the ball easily pop out. Mine is at the point where you try to adjust any of the legs and they just pop out. Not very durable, I wouldn't purchase again.

Conference Call / Desktop Recorder

Solid stand that just fits my Galaxy Not 9 with a defender series otter box, the the phone grip width extends to a 3.5" maximum. When paired with a clip on mic you can get quality audio and visual conference calls or screenshot videos of your desktop for tutorials.

Unstable and weak

If you are looking for a stand you can ever use in portrait mode: STOP. I figured I would be able to wrap it around the edges of things and it does not work. It works okay as a stand in landscape mode and I'm assuming that you'd be able to wrap it around a small branch okay, but the degree of flexibility that I expected to get from this item is completely nonexistent. What a waste of money.

Grip tight stand

Great for taking on hikes! Packs away well and will cling to tree branches and railings for great photos.

GripTight grips tight, what do you know!

I picked this up to fill in as a third person for family photos. It's also been fun for time-lapse photos and they come out way better than when I've just held the phone. Mounting on my bike handlebars has gone well and has been a great way to concisely document a fun afternoon!
