MagSafe charging claim is misleading
I was so excited to have a MagSafe holder & charger for my car where I could easily charge my phone without having to plug it in. I installed this dash kit, including the optional peel and stick metal ring onto my MagSafe charger. The MagSafe charger does not charge when attached to the dash kit! Isn't this the whole point?? As soon as I pull the MagSafe charger off the dash kit, it starts charging. I put it back on the dash kit... it stops charging. This completely defeats the purpose of this product for me. It holds the phone fine, but it does not charge with the MagSafe. I will be returning this.
Great Product like always
I have purchased many of the Steelie kits and products for my personal vehicles. The Orbiter has been no exception to the great products I have received. My wife and daughter both want one now to keep their phones hands free but accessible for map usage and talking. It also keeps their phones up and the charging cables damage free. I even keep a steelie ball on my fire engine to assist with keeping my phone safe but accessible.
Minimalist and strongest in class!
This is the cleanest, strongest magnetic mount i've found. The included ring makes it work with non magnetic phones and cases, it stays out of the way and holds your phone safe in view for navigation or charging. This last version is the most minimalist i've owned without having to add anything to my phone to click in place. 360 rotation in all directions makes it great when using the phone screen for nav or co-nav screens.
Clever design, won't charge with a phone case on
I'm using an iPhone 16 Plus in an Otter Box Commuter for MagSafe case, an Apple MagSafe charger to a Mophie USB-C 20W Car Charger. Once the Orbiter Plus magnet is on the charger, its stops charging. I've been using Steelies for many years, so I'll still use it, just have to lay the charger on the console when needed OR take the phone out of the case.
Dose not work comes off
I bought the new one thinking it going to be a better then the old one I put the ring on my phone case left it for a 24hours to hold before I tested it out at frist the magnet part never stuck properly kept falling off and would never stay on the one day the ring fell off completely and it's just not worth buying the new one I'd stick to the regular

I ordered the Dash Kit, but discovered that it really wasn't conducive to working on my Suburu Outback (the console wasn't slanted enough) so I emailed Nite-Ize and asked to purchase the one that goes into the vent. They sent me that one and I am now using it every time I drive. What great Customer Service!! I really appreciated that!
Love it!
I've had the holder in my car for over a year and i continue to love it. The piece on my phone is low profile so it doesn't get stuck in my holster. The magnet is super strong and keeps my phone on the ball no matter how rough the ride is. I have a galaxy z fold 3, so the phone has a little weight to it. Again i love it
Doesn't work with MagSafe charger
The charging function hasn't worked with a MagSafe charger, as advertised. I'm attempting to get a replacement and will update if it turns out my item is just defective. But my MagSafe charger works fine if I pull it off of the Nite Ize mount, and stops working as soon as it is on the mount.
Great product
I bought this for a 2,000 mile round trip in a class a motor home. It kept my phone exactly where I needed it. The magnet holds it tight so it doesn’t move, but the phone removes with ease. I will be buying more nite ize phone products soon!
Not Bulky
I love it for several reason one it works well with my iPhone. Another it’s not as bulky on my dashboard as my previous ones. I love that I can charge my phone or not; it’s all magnetic so ease of removing charger at anytime.
