Peak Design  Out Front Bike Mount V2

I used it for months with no problem. Today during road cycling after cca 30km I hit small bump on the road and phone fell down. Screen, back cover and camera is broken and frame is bent. iPhone 13 pro max is dead. Cost of repair is more than the second-hand retail price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own 8 of the out front mounts. They’re the only mount that I trust to keep my expensive iPhone Pro Max secure during mountain, road and gravel riding. I’ve purchased two more mounts for my soon to arrive Rise Also TM-B bikes for my wife and I. I’m also planning to use the slimlink universal adapter on my new iPhone Duo that arrives in October. I trust these mounts as they are the best in industry.

The handle bar mount fits exactly to Specialized Tero X 4.0 (31.8mm (1-1/4"))! Firm even on rough terrain. Primarily used this on my daily commutes & recreational rides with my family. Easy to remove/add when parking to keep on my bag with the use of an additional Thumb Screw. I ordered another product for my wife as we are satisfied with the quality and ease of use.

Have been looking for a solution to attach my phone to my mountain bike to help with trail/road navigation for some time. During my research, came across peak design in various YouTube reviews and when I compared to available options, I thought they were best in every aspect, style, functionality, usability etc. Bought peak design phone case and out front bike mount a few weeks ago and have been very pleased and impressed by both in every way. Phone case looks and feels good, and doesn’t add too much extra size to phone overall. It has just the right balance between grip and slip, eg easily slips into pocket (unlike some more rubbery cases), yet feels secure when holding phone. Mounting system is first class, quick to attach/remove phone with one hand and trouble free thanks to magnetic alignment system. Holds securely, no wobble, easy to install/adjust mount etc and now includes collars for all popular handlebar sizes (I’m using the 35mm collar from v2 mount - rock solid). It is exactly as per peak design marketing video. Only issue is phone getting mud splatter running down very soggy UK MTB trails (bike has no mudguards), but I have solved that using cheap waterproof phone sleeve with small hole cut to allow peak design mount to work as normal (see pics).

I’ve had several PeakDesign cases and products of the years. This bike mount is easily my favorite. My phone is very secure feeling and also allows for both vertical and horizontal configurations. I mention it’s secure but also simple to take off an on if you need to remove your phone quickly to catch something while on the trail. Highly recommend pairing this up!

I own the original Outfront Bike Mount but after changing bikes, the new handlebars didn't fit as seamlessly. Fortunately Peak Designs addresssed this with the V2. I am using the original on my ClicGear Golf cart, making it easier to read the range finder app on my phone. All around a good design for multiple sports.

I like the out front unit. I had been using the standard mount with the rubber strap for a few years. Wanted to upgrade because my phone was prone to movement due to the band slipping around my stem. This unit is much more solid and fits with the quality of my bike better. The reason to give four stars instead of five is this: the unit clamps firmly to the smaller diameter of my multi diameter flat bars. This smaller diameter area is 22degrees off the line of the bike which is not ideal when using the heads up unit. I was able to slide the unit toward the bend and that helped. There is a little bit of play in the rotation that I could utilize, but the unit does not swivel like that. Still a good upgrade

I am very impressed with this mount for cycling. The best feature is how easy it is to remove the phone with one hand. The magnet is strong but it's the locking mechanism that keeps phone secure. If you already had an out-front mount for your cycling computer, like I do, you have to flip the Peak Design towards you and over the headset/stem. This works really well but my knees would just brush my iPhone16 Pro when out of the saddle. If you're a bigger rider this may not happen to you. I decided to return the mount and get their universal bar mount so I can place it up on the tops of the bar. This way my legs won't come near the phone.

Solid product, I like the functionality with the case. I have two, one on my road bike, one on my electric.

Have had the mount for about 6 months. I use it on my commuter bike daily and just around town when I don’t need my Garmin (I just use the Strava app in this case). Feels very secure. Like my phone would probably break before the mount (not sure if that’s actually a good thing but I don’t plan on crashing this bike). It says it comes with the go pro mount for attachments, I use a head light, and older photos show it, but I didn’t actually get one and I don’t see that photo in the series anymore so must have changed it. Had to order separately after the fact. Highly recommend for attaching a light. Overall it’s great and I think worth the price.
