Peak Design  Car Mount - Non-Charging

I'm very impressed with this mount. I installed it in my BMW 3 series in a discrete location close to the shifter and it works perfectly. It is beautifully constructed, holds my phone securely and charges it as I go.

Love the product but there was no place on my car's dashboard (Honda Fit) where this would work. The stand or foot presents some limitations (which is why I only gave it 3 starts0. So I made some modifications and purchased a stand to use in my car. (I'm expecting that someday PD will come out with a version 2.0).

I love the Peak design Mobile ecosystem. I have the wireless car mount to use for my iPhone 12 with everyday loop case. I wasn’t able to securely fit the car mount to my Pug (Peugeot 308) because the provided 3M VHB double sided tape wouldn’t hold on the textured finish of the dash on this car. Peak Design warned of this as an issue in their instructions and said to return the mount if it didn’t suit your car. I was adamant I was going to get this to work. I found a solution by purchasing a ProClip Dash mount specifically designed for the PUG 308. It is designed to secularly anchor in the joins in the dash seams in a non destructive and reversible way. Proclip make mounts to custom fit a huge variety of car models. They work very well and because the dash mount surface is flat plastic the Peak Design car mount will attach securely with their provided 3M tape (I did use a second layer of double sided tape to help flatten the face of the contoured car mount). Anyhow, issue solved and a perfect solution and position for my car. I love how easy and securely the Park Design car mount works with their case.

Non-charging version: String magnet - many times better than Scosche Magic Mount. Small footprint, beautiful design, great workmanship.

This mount is great in my truck. My only complain would be the slightly turned down edges on the ends of the mounting pad. I LOVE the low profile of the mount! Since it basically hangs off the edge of my dash, I am able to use my phone in either portrait or landscape mode. I run Waze when I am driving, and my battery percent went up after a 45 minute commute so the mount definitely provides more energy than the phone uses while constantly on (really my only concern).

Originally posted and verified on 7/6/2022 (see screenshot) I usually love PD products but am sorely dissatisfied in the wireless charging car mount. You will NOT be able to mount this sideways (sticking out from your dash as opposed to sitting on top) without the 3M adhesive failing immediately. Yes, I waited even longer than the 24 hours to allow the adhesive to form a bond - still had my mount begin peeling off immediately upon use. If you don’t have a modern, luxury style dash like the ones pictured then this mount will probably not work for you. Really disappointed in PD as they usually design products so thoughtfully. Updated 7/14/22 I went to reference my review today and could not locate it via search function or by sorting by most recent. Screenshots attached to support my claim that PD has removed my negative review.

I was worried when I got this, because I drive a VW. It has been really difficult to find secure mounting locations in my car. I have zero smooth patches to use for the sticker, but also atypical vents that won’t work for a vent-mounted model. But hooray—I found a spot that worked! The tape seems strong enough to cope with the irregularities I threw at it. My phone in its peak case snaps on like a dream and doesn’t budge! Perfect!

Simple and clean design. Works great and has great connection for holding phone and charging as well. Had it up for about 2 weeks and zero issues. I also have another one of their mounts for my motorcycle and it works flawlessly as well.

At first, I didn’t think it was going to be able to fit my Prius prime, but it did, and I love it. It’s so stable and so close to the steering wheel that I can not be as distracted as I used to be. Thank you.

The quality are functionality of the car mount was frankly a huge surprise, I've tried several and they never really work, either the attachment to the dash or the magnetic hold are not strong enough. The Peak Design version is excellent, the adhesive attachment to the dash is super strong and so far has withstood some really hot days, the magnet attachment for the phone in the case is strong and stays in place even in rough conditions. The icing on the cake is the tiny adhesive cable clips that are included, these all the cable to. be neatly routed around the dash. I would love to purchase some more, so please make these available to buy.
