Steelie ball orbitor
This particular model the “Orbitor” is by far the best model of the Steelie ball line up. The metal disc plate that sticks onto the cell phone is very securely mounted and combined with the new larger magnet mount is the only combination that holds the newer model larger smart phones. I have had the smaller magnet mounted on my phone for years and it never quite held my phone like this new larger magnet pad does on the orbitor. I absolutely love it and I love the caring staff at nite-ize. I can remember once about 6 years ago I couldn’t find any new 3m sticky pads to remount my magnet onto my new cell phone and I called the company directly. They happily sent me a new adhesive pad promptly and it left a lasting impression with me.

I do not submit reviews often but felt compelled to do so in this case. I have tried many phone holders over the years and until this one have been time and again disappointed. Without a doubt this is the best. I have the Steelie Orbital in my truck and will be a lifelong customer. I have the keychain and also the pedestal at home. I love their products and confident you will as well!

Best. Mount. Ever. Could not find a good mount for my Subaru Crosstrek. This one does it well and is stylish to boot. I used an adhesive to mount the plate to my case, which was the only off script thing I had to do.
The ideas there. Just doesn’t stick
Followed instructions but the 3M VHB adhesive on the ball mount the dash is useless. I see other reviews say the same. Don’t waste your money as I did
Thank you for the feedback. I am sorry that the adhesives didn't stick to your dash. The reason this happens is there’s some coating on your dash that is preventing the 3M VHB adhesive from sticking. This could be from the manufacturer or if you have ever used products like Armor All or the like. We have had great luck defeating the coating using a gentle degreaser like Simple Green. You would want to apply a small amount of the degreaser to a towel, drape it over your finger, and work it into the spot you want to mount the Steelie. When you are done, wipe it dry. Keep in mind the footprint of the mount is small, so be judicious with the de greaser. I would also advise testing this in an inconspicuous location as to ensure no discoloration occurs. Let adhesive dry for 24 hrs before using Steelie. Adhesives work best on hard plastic surfaces. Love this product.
I have been using Steelie since it first hit the market. I still use the original ball mount from my first purchase years ago on my trucks dash, it’s never come loose. It’s important to make sure the spot you plan to mount the ball is completely dry and free of Armorall or any dash cleaner otherwise it may not stick very well. I’ve upgraded my attachments as new ones come up for sale and they all work great. This is by far the best car phone holder on the market. Never comes loose and always sturdy no matter how big a pothole you hit.
Great Variation on a Great Producte
I bought this product on sight! I had avoided the original product because I did not want a 1/4-inch protrusion on the back of my phone, and this new product has solved that problem. . . For those having problems with the adhesive sticking, there is something wrong with the surface to which you stuck it--These 3M adhesives are used to put buildings together, and they last forever. I had some blind spot mirrors stuck to the top of my outside mirrors for over 10 years using the 3M product, and they were just as well fixed the day I traded the car in as they were the day after they were mounted. When I stuck the base of this product to my dash after cleaning it with the alcohol pad, it immediately stuck hard, and I suspect it will stay there as long as I have this car.
Did not stick
I bought this today and pre cleaned the mounting location with degreaser and alcohol prep pad, I then firmly mounted it to the dash, it was just the ball part. I came back 10 minutes later and it was laying in the floor. My truck was parked in the garage out of the sun so not sure what happened. I did manage to mount it with 3M automotive trim tape. So plan ahead and get some good double sided adhesive tape. I love the way it works and the ease and convenience but the adhesive is a joke.

One of the Best items I have ever purchased
This thing is awesome! I use it in the car for gps and hands free phone calls. I also use the magnet on my phone to hold my phone other places, for example: on my clip board at work, chair arm at soccer games, or my screen door when I'm doing yard work. It secures the phone and makes it easy to find and stay safe. I would most definitely recommend this product to anyone with a cell phone!! I can't tell you how great this item is and how much it comes in handy.
