Great product. I feel 100% secure with this.

The negative reviews from other posters are about how hard the carabiner is to open. In the middle of each carabiner, there's a lock in the middle to keep it from opening. You need to turn the lock so that it's vertical (default is horizontal) to open the carabiner. Once you're done opening it and attaching it to whatever is needed, you turn it to lock it. This product differentiates itself from other tethers with the locking system. As for installation, you need a tight case, and you insert the plastic in the charger hole between the phone & case, then you attach to the strap. Very secure product once people understand how it is supposed to be installed.

Pad too thick to fit apple case
mark
I was hoping, but not optimistic, that this would fit an Iphone12 with Apple case. Nope. The case is to tight and/or the pad is too thick. The phone will not fit securely back into the case with the pad in place. Probably OK for other cases, but not this one.

Almost perfect - only works with some cases

TL/DR: really fantastic product when you have the right phone case. The plus: amazing for clumsy hikers like me, travelers in phone snatching tourist areas (buying these for the rest of the fam for Europe trip), and anyone who just doesn’t want their phone to slip from their grasp. I’ve tethered it to a belt loop or purse zipper far more than my wrist, but I’m sure that’s great too if you want your phone beat your hand for photos. The minus: security depends on the case. I find it ironic that it’s shown in pictures with an opaque Otterbox Symmetry case, because that is what I have (a MagSafe Symmetry in opaque pink) and it is the least secure case (of 4 or so) that I’ve used with the NiteIze tether. The Symmetry is hard plastic on the back and malleable/rubber plastic around the edge and the combination of materials allows the anchor to push the case away from the phone, interfering with the charging opening and making the phone sit less securely in the case so it could slip out if dropped. This is more notable since my case is over a year old, stretched and worn. Real life, not studio photos. I’d be suspicious whether any tight fitting, malleable case remains secure with the anchor, but again it just depends. I tested the tether anchor with the Otterbox Defender case on my work iPhone 13 (tether between the hard plastic and rubber layers) and doesn’t move the case away from the phone body. An old Spigen SlimArmor wallet case also worked great with my iPhone 13 Pro; that one is a malleable plastic all around and the anchor was between phone and case.

Say goodbye to cracked screens!

I cannot recommend this item enough. I find myself raving about this product to everybody I meet. I am basically a walking advertisement for this company. Speaking as a women, we rarely have adequate pockets to hold anything, that's where this product comes in handy! I cannot tell you how many times I've dropped my phone trying to carry too many things at once. With this phone tether, I'm able to hold my phone like a bracelet on my wrist, which leaves my hands free to carry whatever I need. If you're like me and you drop your phone frequently, this tether is a must-have! If you like to customize your phone like I do, just remove the tether and use the metal ring on the "Phone Anchor" to clip on your favorite keychain! The durability of the metal ring is spectacular. I believe this is true because it has no seam therefore, it does not get stretched out like keyrings. Give my complements to the engineer because, when it comes to structure, they thought of everything! (As you can see in the photos my phone is cracked... That is because I removed the tether. Learn from my mistake) My only complaint, (which has nothing to do with the structure) is the color options for the "Phone Anchor." I use a clear phone case to show off the metallic glass on the back of my phone. To market this item to a wider audience, it would be sweet if the online store had more color options for the "Phone Anchor" specifically. I believe this product has the potential to be marketed towards consumers who use custom phone cases and cell phone charms and keychains.

Phone-saver that allows for great pics to be taken

After dropping a phone off a 12 pitch climb in Yosemite I decided I needed something like this. Since then it has been amazing. I have been able to get great shots while climbing and belaying and not worry about dropping my phone. If I have to let go of it to bring in some rope it just dangles until I can put it back in my pocket. Its a bit of work to get set up and it can get in the way of charging a bit, but these are minor complaints compared to how awesome it has been.

So I loved this concept but it didn't last

So I got this for a couple of reasons; I was traveling to a place know for pickpocketing and I'm really good at dropping my phone. This worked perfectly except the ribbon connecting the tether and the "phone anchor" broke. It took around 1 year and 4 months of consistent daily use to do it, but I wish they'd use a stronger material (nylon maybe?) so that it wouldn't happen. Also small note, for my Pela case the anchor was just enough to push the phone up and make the case bow over the charging cord which eventually broke that piece of my pela case. Not a huge deal because the case still works.

Great second thought.

Last year I lost a cell phone for the first in a river with no hope of retrieving it. After replacing it found this product at the local EMS store. Has been helpful ever since. I use a belt clip and hard case and put the coil on a belt loop. Has several times that the phone did not lock into the belt clip and had it drop. Plus great joke to leave it on counter and walk away and watch people's face as it drops.

Does not fit iPhone 13 + Apple Silicone Case

The insert is too thick to allow the iPhone 13 to snap fully into the Apple Silicone Case. The lower edge of the screen sticks out and could in theory cause the phone to pop out of the case more easily, in addition to being awkward. The elastic cable has less "give" than I would have liked as well. The locks on the attachment points are somewhat thoughtful, though I'm not sure if they are really necessary. With a different case, this could be a useful accessory, but it does not meet my needs unfortunately.

Fantastic phone leash for kayaking or sailing

LOVE this! Clip your phone to your kayak or boat so it won’t fall overboard. Extends like a phone cord so you can still use it and charge it. Clip tether to itself to use around wrist when going for a run. Been looking for a phone leash forever!

Stretchy tether

Fits my Samsung Galazy S21 Ultra with an Otterbox. The rubber flap to the charging port can still be closed while using this. I've used this backpacking, hiking, climbing, and mountaineering. It's saved my phone from a drop or two. I attach one of the carabiners to my pack and use the Otterbox waist clip to attach it to my belt loop. It has enough stretch to be able to use my phone easily for navigation and to take pictures.
