Lightweight and comfortable
I didn't have the ride up problem the other reviewer experienced. I've had a hard time finding a toque that didn't make my head too warm while hiking or running. This one works perfectly. Wicks really well and very breathable. It probably won't do the job in sub-freezing weather. Fills the middle niche well.

Try another brand.
I bought this hat to wear running in the winter from 25 to 40 or so. Breathablity and wicking are good. But, the hat rides up and left unattended will soon be well above your ears. Very much the dufus look.

My favorite light winter hat!

This hat is plenty warm until it gets really cold, not too hot, wicks sweat, and I love it. And it fits well under a bike or motorcycle helmet. I did not have the "riding up" problem another reviewer had, and I have owned/worn this hat for two years. If I lose it I'll get another exactly like it immediately, because I have yet to find anything else that I like as well.

Nice, comfortable material

Nice, comfortable material. While I realize that everyone has a different tolerance to cold, for me, I have found that it keeps my ears and head warm in temperatures as low as 30 degrees or so and down to the 20 degree range when I pair it with a hoodie. This hat easily stows away in a pocket without the bulk of some other hats I own. From the label sewn inside the hat: made in Spain, 49% polyamide, 47% polyester, 4% elastane

Neat design, great minimal hat

I luckily found this in a clearance pile with other hats at REI while on a ski trip a couple years back. It looked perfect for wearing under my helmet - and it was. I wore it all 4 long days of skiing. I had brought my regular thicker knit cap, but no way that was working under a helmet. After that trip, I've used this hat when doing stuff outside in cooler temps. And it's so small I bring it with me when I might not otherwise want to bring an extra hat - throw it in, there is no space or weight penalty! I find myself often putting it on later in those situations. It is 2 fairly thin layers of stretchy, soft, synthetic material - very comfortable. Technically it's just 1 layer, but folded over at the bottom - neat design. That makes it thicker than a neck Buff, which is good. The only seams are on the underside, and the top and bottom layer don't actually attach, so you can pull the inside out sort of. But that means it has very minimal seams, which is great for under a helmet. It's so flexible and stretchy that it doesn't bother me going around my glasses earpieces either. I guess that's the 4-way stretch. It also feels very durable. The pattern on it is reflective, but it's not much really. What a find. Such a small thing, but really great to have. I would definitely buy this again at full price if I needed a new one.

perfect for under-helmet wear

Good size and thickness for wearing under my bike helmet on cold days.

Great Hat for Running

I use this hat for running outside when the temperature dips. It's light weight, warm, good in the wind and is not bulky at all.

An ok hat

Bought this as a basic hat for hiking and wicking the sweat off. I like it but here is the issues: Different shaped heads but not an equal hat. It is too small and usually pulls, up exposing a little ear. Secondly, it does not fit firm around the head, which would keep it tightly in place thus more slippage as noted above.

my go to beanie

I’ve had three of these and I’m about to buy another. It is thin enough to wear under a helmet and small enough to stuff into a pocket. I use it all winter and my only problem is that my kiddo keeps taking it and loosing it.

Went with a different hat

For some reason I cant edit my initial reviews. I returned that hat due to my head not fitting, my hair is also thick so the hat doesn’t stay on. Just too small, probably good for teens or younger.
