Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helps rehydrating food and this v.2 is lighter I read in one of the backpacking forums that putting the boiling water (along with the dried meats the water is sent to rescue) in a screw top container helps rehydrate because it creates a vacuum. I agree and this cup does that. Also, you can get started with rehydrating while hiking because of the lid. I have used v1 of this cup for years for meals and drinks and I believe it is worth its weight Just like v.1, though, only about 1 cup in 4 is water - tight. If you want at the least one that is water tight, you should order 4 to be sure and return the leaky versions. If all 4 leak, keep swapping lids around to find the perfect match.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Floppy handle makes it awkward to hold, leaks I love the original Fairshare mug but lost my lid, so I opted for this version. I thought the insulation would be nice. But, the handle is extremely awkward. No matter how you hold it, the mug is not upright. With liquid in it and the lid closed, it's always at an angle, and leaks. This is such a large mug that it's not necessarily easy to hold it with one hand, either. The old Fairshare lid had an indent so you could use physics to open it, but this one is flat and due to it's size makes it very difficult to open when you - for example - tighten it to test it's leakage. Not impressed, would not recommend.
