Awesome mug for the indoors and outdoors!

I love my REI mug! I use it at home and I take it with me when I go camping/backpacking. It is perfect for my tea in the early mornings and late evenings.

"Cool Mug"!

Yeah I bought this mostly as an REI piece and didn't expect all that much functionality and usefulness but it has practically become my daily around-the-house favorite. I was pleasantly surprised to find that heat of coffee does not reach the outside of mug and scorch the knuckles as you sip. It may not insulate the coffee at max heat as long as some mugs but it is a "cool mug"! Lid happens to also fit one or two other random mugs I have from some big name coffee place . . . starts with an "S", can't recall offhand.

It’s cute but not functional

This mug barely keeps warm liquids for 30 mins. Plus with the openings, causes the liquid to cool down quicker & spillage become easy. Won’t fit in a cup holder either. For $20, you’re paying for the illustration.

Great Camp Mug

The REI Forest Camp Mug is the best mug I have ever had. I holds hot liquid and yet remains cool to the touch on the handle and exterior of the mug. And, the mug is light weight too.

Great mug with nice lid

Works just fine! Mug gets a little warm with boiling water when I made tea but not un-holdable.

Cute, reliable, handy mug

I was instantly charmed by the graphic on this mug and it's turned out to be a reliable addition to my tea vessel collection. The handle is surprisingly roomy and easy to hold for a long time with my relatively big hands, and it's insulated well enough to keep hot drinks hot for a while, especially with the lid on. The lid itself is also one of the best I've used with an insulated mug, with a sloped area near the opening to make it easy to get your mouth completely on it and a handy little tab for pulling it off. I've had the mug for a few months and it's held up to some outdoor bonfires and regular usage at my desk, with no visible scratches or chipping to the graphic or lid. The only, minor, downside is that the insulation isn't quite enough to let you carry the mug around by the sides right after pouring boiling water into it, but the nice handle alleviates that problem anyway. Very solid insulated mug overall.
