Camp Monsters Podcast (and mug) FOREVER!!!
Great REI quality and a first-class way to show our Camp Monsters Podcast love! Camp Monsters forever!!
horrible longevity, stain easily
I purchased half a dozen of these mugs over the last couple of years to replace all of my old ceramic mugs, and at first was infatuated. However, the coating is now peeling on every single one (some of the handles are now completely bare metal), and they all have brown stains on the insides that only come off by scraping with my finger nail (a dish brush or sponge does nothing). I've never had this happen with any other stainless steel products, and am annoyed that I wasted so much money on mugs that now look ugly and have coffee stains (or rust? or both?) in them.
Keep track of your cup
Love the cups! Purchased them because a few cup colors were going to be discontinued, including yellow, a color I wanted. And although I already have a few 12 oz size cups, these are 16 oz. Both sizes are nice to have. I use the camp cups when friends are over and we’re outdoors. With the lids on, the drinks remain hot longer. Since each cup is a different color, everyone is able to keep track of their drinks. And in the event a cup misses the table, there aren’t broken pieces to pick up. All they need is a refill!
The perfect cup
I bought a new 8oz and a 12oz after losing my old and much loved 12oz. The 12 is ideal for tea: the perfect size and keeps it hot for just long enough. It goes everywhere with me (I’m English so tea is a critical life support element). The 8oz is ideal for coffee. It fits under my machine, holds heat and holds exactly the right amount of coffee and milk for a cortado. It’s a silly thing to say I suppose but I love ‘em. They’re a small but essential part of each day. They’re not cheap but are well worth it.
Great Addition To Cup Arsenal
The fit and copper finish is AWESOME. I was gifted the smallest Camp Cup and thought it was the greatest creation ever. The mouth perfectly fits a Aeropress and it fits perfectly sideways in my Topo Design Dopp kit. The cup can contain the filters and Aeropress filter cap. After some use, I determined I needed more space in the cup to make coffee up to level 4 on the Aeropress. This cup allows enough room to prevent the air from splashing the coffee out of the sides of the mouth as you press down.
That morning cup of coffee revisited.
I have been using the MiiR cup and flip lid traveler for my morning coffee. I have found that if I save some coffee from the day before in the bottom of the cup (about a quarter inch) that when I fill the cup with hot freshly brewed coffee it is drinkable (still quite hot) and that I can enjoy the coffee for up to an hour while I am reading the papers we get each day without the coffee getting cold like it would in a regular cup. At the same time I am filling my MiiR cup I fill the black flip lid traveler with the freshly brewed hot coffee. The flip lid traveler keeps the coffee hot throughout the morning and I can enjoy drinking hot coffee directly from the flip lid traveler during the morning when I want to take a coffee break. Incidentally,I have been drinking coffee from my MiiR cup as I have been writing this.
Lighter than last one
Have had a 16 ounce cup since 2021, and absolutely love it. Just got another one, and my only two observations are that the new cup is 5 g lighter than the old cup. Seems to hold it heat as well as the other, so my only other observation is it seems very hard to get these guys to engrave something on the front of the cup opposite the handle as opposed to on either side.
Perfection!
I bought the 20 oz. camp cup for my 92 year-old Mom, because her arthritic hands couldn’t grip her water glass. The handle on the camp cup was the perfect aid to allow her to lift the cup and keep it balanced. The insulation keeps her drink cold, and by using a straw with the lid, spills are not a problem. And, she loves the look of it - perfection!
Love love LOVE
I love the sleek look of the 20 oz camp cup. I use the Thousand Hills one, which is a blush pale pink. I originally thought it was a light beige, but I'm not disappointed as it's not "too pink." It keeps my coffee hot and my iced coffee cold for hours. I even bought extras in other colors while they were 50% off as these make great gifts.
Useful little cup
I love coffee, but I'm a slow drinker, taking about 2 hours to finish a cup. This cup keeps it warm and keeps me away from rewarming in the microwave. It holds the rated 12 oz and the red color makes it easy to spot. (I'm always leaving my cup around the house in various spots and forgetting where I left it). The free engraving was great.
