Rated 5 out of 5 by from solid shoe for day hiking! I bought these before a trip to Death Valley NP and loved them. They are light and very supportive of your ankles. I had some issues with blisters on my pinky toes but I blame that on my awkward little feet, lack of knowledge on blister prevention (rookie mistake) and lack of moleskin. Will be wearing these again in a few weeks to trek all over Utah. Also, I bought this exact pair in purple when it was on REI garage so paid less than $90 for them. Couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Have worn and repurchased these for years. Great boot for hiking, walking, chores. I started wearing the original version years ago, and own the new model 2, and continue to buy more Moabs as needed, both the ventilator and the waterproof versions (I like having a fresh pair for travel, distinct from work, so they look clean ;-) ). Have recommended to many friends of all shapes and sizes and none has been disappointed with the performance of this boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looking for my second pair! These are the perfect summer boot! Light and cool! Sand and dirt gets will when you use a ventilated boot. I have had mine for 4 years...ready to purchase another pair. Comfy...don't even know I have them on. I hike aggressively and regularly in the lower and upper Sierras...the DG has worn at the leather at the front...but not compromised the support of the boot in any way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Various Terrain After desperately needing to replace my previous boots, I came across these and had to give them a go. The perform beautifully across a variety of terrain, from high desert to river rocks, maintaining traction on wet/dry/muddy terrain, with great ankle support.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Right boot smaller than left. The right boot was visibly smaller than the left boot and did not fit even though both said they were size 7. I returned these to my local Rei store. Very disappointing. I had a pair just like these and expected them to fit. I could not find these locally which is why I ordered online.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort and Ease I absolutely loved these hiking boots! They are completely true to size and breaking them in was a breeze. I've had issues in the past with boots giving me blisters and when I took these out for the first seven mile hike, my feet felt great after!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and sturdy! I was nervous they would be heavy or bulky but they are very comfortable. I have had no issues with them.

Will these boots work for a narrow, low volume foot, or would another brand fit better?

Asked by: DJHike
I have a AA-width, low-volume foot. I have worn Moab boots for years. I add a midsole and Superfeet insoles which fill up the volume, yet retain a comfy toe-box. I literally (as in not figuratively) wear my Moab boots 90% of the time I am outside, I have both vent and waterproof types. They have travelled the world with me. I would recommend trying them, REI has a thoughtful return policy. (56 yr-old woman, size 8 shoe)

How is Moab 2 Ventilator different from the older Moab ventilator.  The one on sale is not available in my size, but I need to be sure Moab 2 version is not dramatically different.  Thanks

Asked by: Elaine2
The Moab 2 now features Vibram TC5+ rubber for extra traction and grip and is 7 oz. more in weight. They are still very breathable and have EVA midsoles to absorb shock and add stability.
