Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good idea but need improvement. Cons: Light is relatively heavy which makes mounting not easy (their provided mount doesn't work well with cables. In fact, it did break one of my mount and fell to ground. The stated 4400mah battery is bit underwhelming considering it looks like they have 2 18650 batteries. Good Panasonic batteries gets combined 6800mah or there about. In fact, the max brightness 400 lumen and recording only lasted 1.5 hours (rated 2 hours). Next step down is not sufficient for traveling at 15+ mph. Honestly if they just put better quality batteries, I would imagine the run time would have been 2.3 hours+ which would have made this useful. It's surprising how NONE of web review has actual run time of this unit tested... Android web has been... well... waiting. Pros: Ease of use for people used to Fly 6. Video resolution is fine. Concept is great! Things I would like to see, and making me purchase one in future if it gets v2: 1) Change the battery to higher quality... if it raises price of unit up by $10... I believe it is much better investment. 2) Make it more efficient in energy use. Typical 400 Lumen light with 1 18650 batteris tend to last over 3 hours. Mobius Action cam (HD) with 750mah Battery last 2 hours. Math tells me you can make it do both to last 3 hours with about 4400mah. With the battery I mentioned, it can be going up to 4.5 hours!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing compared to the back light Hi I love the Fly 6 and was excited about the front light. But since, I constantly have trouble: the mount is bad for commuters. It takes forever to take it off and on, it's easy to loose the bolt, and yet, no commuted can risk a $300 light getting stolen. The battery life is super short- sometimes it doesn't last a full commute if I am actually also using the light (one hour there, one hour back) and it certainly barely lasts a joy ride. Then, there are constant problems: it doesn't take video; it needs to be reset again and again. It all the sudden starts beeping incessantly and needs to be manually reset. The back light has been going strong for four years, so I am not sure why the front light is not up to par.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the trouble I bought this to provide video to document any accidents out there and to occasionally pull video for entertainment/sharing. First the device is far heavier than I imagined. The buttons on the unit are fine but the flashing indicator lights are not well positioned for viewing during use in many mounting positions and the number of flashing patterns is a bit silly... who can remember what they all mean? It wouldn't matter what they mean if the camera was working but in my case it was very inconsistent so I did 'need' to know what the indicators were telling me. In short though, on the first ride it only recorded 5min. Second ride it recorded nothing. Third ride again nothing. I tried getting it to work in the living room and again no recording (flashing lights suggest its working!) and then 'bam' the whole device went dead. Another of many trips to the company webpage for troubleshooting reveals I am far from the only one with such problems. The software is also quite clunky and unreliable. This is a great idea but poorly executed. I understand the differences between this and a GoPro as I have both and bought this for a reason but I will just use my GoPro going forward. I spent way too much time trying to make this work. Its considerably easier just to loop GoPro and carry an extra card if needed. I would consider this device again in the future if version 2.0 or 3.0 comes along with some real improvements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for commuter I've been running the Cycliq for about 6 months now front and rear. I have been fortunate enough NOT to need the video for court, it is good to know it is there! I have though used the video with a FB post and noticed that who ever the harassing driver was, he suddenly stopped harassing me after I posted it. Coincidence? Maybe. But knowing you have been caught on video harassing someone else on the road illegally might make you think twice about doing ti again! Video quality is great. It isn't an "action" camera, and in my opinion shouldn't be compared to one. It can be used as one, as I have on m mountain bike, I see it as a space saving convenient headlight with a quality surveillance camera in one easy to use package. That's kind of a mouth full. The light has 9 settings, which is excessive...if you don't change it with the app! I used the Cycliq app to turn off all the light settings I wasn't interested in which leaves me with 4 to scroll through; high solid, low solid, night flash low, and no light. The high steady are for when I need a lot of light in a technical or fast area (like the mountain bike at night), low steady for on a bike path at night, and flash for in traffic. I turn the light off to save power when recording when visibility isn't an issue (climbing a mountain, or on a bike path in the day). As some of my rides easily go well over 6 hours and into the 12+ hour area, I eat battery life. The crash saving function is probably worth more then its weight in gold. If something were to ever happen to me, the possibility that those last moments will be locked in protected memory to be recovered later could really mean no one ever knowing what happened won't happen. There will be a series of events can can be traced. The looping video makes it ideal for commuting. Unlike other cameras where you have to delete old video to make room, this just over writes the old stuff. And you can run a pretty big memory card if you wish. Unlike other cameras, this one actually does come with a fair sized memory card to start with. I recently tested it in the rain when southern California had some record setting rainfall, and I don't have fenders on my bike! Not a single problem, it really is real world water proof (I didn't put it in a bucket of water to test, just real life testing). I haven't seen any degradation in battery life yet. It will happen, but not yet. With as much abuse as I give it riding on average of 15 hours a week (some weeks being closer to 30), that is a good sign. I only charge it as needed.
