I really like this light - I use it on my bike for commuting and sometimes take it with me hiking as a backup (to one or two headlamps) since it is so small and light. Unfortunately, I dropped it on one hike and quickly replaced it with exactly the same model. It recharges quickly through the USB port and I found that it lasted for many days between recharges. It starts flashing to indicate a recharge is needed. I really don't have anything bad to say about this little light.
Did lose its charge in the middle of a ride but was easily recharged when I got home! Not the brightest though, so riding at night without many street lights might be a little too dark.
Not the most amazing bike light but gets the job done for the value. Didn't want to spend $100+ on something more sophisticated - really just wanted a good security light for bike in the evening and something to help me navigate darker roads at the end of my rides.
The Planet Bike Spok 50 USB Front Bike Light has performed very well. I generally use it in strobe mode. The charge last for over a week with my current daily use.
Bright and does the job to get cars/people to notice you. I also like how it’s easy to remove and install the light when you are on stops.
The Spok 50 is an awesome little light. My opinion is that It's not made for seeing things but for being seen. I run mine like 99% of the time on strobe/ flash, day and night. Just to attract attention for the other users of the roadways. I have at times doubled them up and used as a beam, but only when riding through the Snowqualmie Pass Tunnel
I liked this light- it’s lightweight and bright enough, but it’s held together by just 1 tiny screw in the bottom that stripped out of the plastic after about 1 year. The light fell off and promptly got run over by a pickup truck.
This light is so much brighter than the battery-operated one I'd been using. It's easy to attach and stays put. However, on my Trek Madone WSD handlebars (are these smaller than men's handlebars?), I have to REALLY stretch the strap to get it on; too bad the strap isn't 1/2" longer. I worry that it will snap or tear. But I like the light well enough to take a chance, and will keep it. I haven't used it enough to be able to fairly rate battery life, but after a 4-hour ride on flashing mode, it was still very bright.
Tiny light but big and bright enough for commute in the dark on modestly lit road-side bike path.
Strap broke after 3 uses. Moving the light from one bike to another, pulled the strap to secure it to a rack and suddenly there were two pieces. Light works great but strap sucks. Poor quality straps really diminish an otherwise good product.
