This light has been reliable for the 2 years that I have ridden with it. I rarely use it on the full 1300 watt steady mode, but good to know it's there. The quality of the light pattern is even. The daytime running flasher is very effective. I do notice cars would wait for me to pass when they were waiting to turn left. Battery life seems to be on par with industry, nothing negative to note. The one con that I will point out is the finicky button operation. The double-press to power on is easy, but the single long press to turn off is finicky. If you let go too soon, then it cycles thru the light modes. Best to press and count to 3 secs to make sure.
Does not perform as advertised-- very limited battery life and light is not waterproof. I have had 6 of these for our family bikes. All have failed within two years. I tried contacting the manufacturers-- with no response. Terrible product-- buy another brand.
Battery life for this product is extremely short lived. After a year-or-so of use, could not recharge until the charge light turned green. This is the second Ion I've bought, and both had the same problem, which is a shame because the light it emits is excellent.
Good beam pattern and power, but questionable battery life. I've had it nearly 6 months and the charging status indicator turns red after only 6 minutes from a full charge. The light and battery seem to be fine, but the charge status is annoying. I can't tell if I really need to charge it or if it's fine for one more ride. This seems to be a common issue with Bontrager lights (I have 2 headlights/2 taillights).
Light failed within two years. Second light from Trek/Bont to fail. I've got cheapo box store cycling lights that lasted more than ten years. Trek does not warranty beyond 30 days. I'm done with Bont.
Light emits a great beam. I have had it for 2 years and it still works quite well. I haven't had any issues with it unlike the other reviewers.
