Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Sturdy Hitch Rac Bought this recently, and have been very happy so far. Installs fairly easily, and is very sturdy. My 27.5 inch Ghost and Diamondbacks mountain bikes fit with no issues at all. I do really like that there are 2 locks pre-installed on the mounts for both bikes, so I don't have to carry an extra lock. Ridden across the state > 3 hrs and were solid as a rock. My only warning: I initially set the bar for the front tire too far forward, and dumped my bikes while driving slowly. I realized my mistake and moved it further back, no issues once I figured out what I did wrong. Overall very happy. Way more sturdy than my trunk tie-down rack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bike rack Everything on this bike rack is well made, with the exception maybe of the back wheel attachments. The ratcheting mechanism is made of plastic. Hasn't failed or anything, but I can see this being the first part to go. Other than that, everything it solid. Mounting and dismounting the bike cannot get easier. Just remember to open the back wheel attachment first and swing the front wheel arm out. Lift the bike in place, lock the front wheel, attach the back wheel. 20 seconds. Same for removing the bike, very quick and easy. Bikes feel securely attached while on the road. Would buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best All-around Hitch Rack I have owned both roof mounted and hitch mounted bike racks and the T2 Pro is by far my favorite. Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect, but it is the best all-around. Fairly easy set-up but even easier usability. Upsides: handle at rear is the best feature! Quick bike placement. Easy adjustments. Fits every type of bike (DH, XT, CX, Road, Tri, Cruiser, Kids, Fattie). Downsides: Not the best looking (Kuat is, in my opinion). Cable lock is only long enough to connect to frame (I use a separate cable to tie everything together).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow - Easier than expected All I can say is wow..... I was concerned about the assembly requirements but after getting into the box this was easier than expected. I was surprised to find an integrated hitch pin with a unique lock which eliminates the need for a hitch pin. It's easy to use, I love the location of the handle which makes it easy to raise, lower and tilt. Having bikes loaded on it and tiling down was a breeze. Next year I plan on buying the extension which I suspect is of similar quality and ease. This may not be as pretty as some of the other racks out there but this one really delivers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best rack ever I have owned 2 racks previously and detested them both because of how fussy they were to mount to a vehicle and mount bikes. I therefore vowed that when I purchased a new rack it would be one that is as easy as possible to use - enter the Thule T2 Pro. Yes, it's a bit heavy and awkward, but 1000% worth it for (1) the ease of mounting the rack to the hitch receiver (no tools; tight connection that eliminates wobble), (2) the ease of mounting the bike, and (3) the ease of tilting the rack out of the way of the vehicle's rear hatch. My full-size pickup has a cap and I assumed the rack would not provide enough clearance for opening the cap's rear hatch and/or lowering the truck's tailgate. Wrong - there is plenty of room, which makes it easy to get my dogs in and out of the cargo area when the rack and bikes are mounted. Worth every penny! I hope durability is as great as functionality. I recommend this rack to anyone strong enough to manage its weight (50 lbs, I think?) and hoist bikes up to the level of the platform once the rack is mounted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Every Time We have been waiting for this design and, WOW, this works well with a Honda Pilot. Works with all our road 700c, 26 and 29 - hardtail and full suspension bikes. Even fit two fatties at the same time. The release handle and leverage makes tilting a piece of cake. My 11 year old can do it with two bikes loaded to gain access to the back hatch with no clearance issues. If I had one thing to say it would be....why not make a rack this well to begin with?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Remove the lock codes from your Thule products. Anyone that can read the codes pressed on the three lock cylinders (same code on the key) can request a duplicate key from Thule. Thule does not verify or cross check requests with registered owners. It seems that this is common practice with other manufactures. The T2 Pro is like the Cadillac of racks. Grind the identification numbers off of all your cylinder locks before using them (put the code in a safe place -so if you need to legitimately get another key). I would have done this if I knew how easy it was to get a duplicate key. The way the Thule hitch portion is set up does not allow a secondary locking pin to be used. Thule just needs to remove the numbers from the outside or tell customers to remove them before actual use. A stolen rack forces us to buy another, which would be great for Thule sales figures. Don't be surprized with a missing rack and/or your bikes. The T2 Pro is a very nice bike rack and rightfully draws attention to it. I am also using a chain to lock it now as back up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Thule T2 Pro 2 Bike Hitch Rack Wish it would have worked! Easy to mount, lower and remove, but it would not fit our vehicle or bikes. 1. The high pivot mechanism raises the crossbars so high that the doors on the back of our Sprinter van can not be opened more than few inches. 2. The crossbars are positioned so close to one another that the new (wider) front wheel clamp contacts the chainstay of the other bike. There is about 1cm clearance, but contact and rubbing occurs when the bikes rock slightly on the carrier. We were not able to prevent this by moving the bikes left/right. Note that the bike is a 27.5+ bike with boost (148mm) hubs, so the chainstays are slightly wider than a bike with a narrower rear hub. The older style T2 XTR rack works fine on the van because the pivot mechanism puts the crossbars a few inches lower. The XTR rack also works fine with plus bikes because the fore/aft positioning of the cross bars is adjustable. Unfortunately, the XTR rack does not offer the convenient mounting and lowering that the Pro model does. Recommend checking fitment before purchasing.

Will it work on bikes with fenders

Asked by: cabin69
Yes - contact is only with the tires.Unless your front wheel fender comes extremely far forward and interferes with the hook-arm. My bike has fenders AND a front basket and there is no problem.

I read an early review from a few months ago that said this rack won't carry 2 fat bikes at the same time. It said the bar that holds the tire on the back bike contacts the frame on the front bike. Do you now if Thule fixed that? Thanks

Asked by: Fat Biker
The T2 Pro 2 Bike Hitch Rack can accommodate two fat bikes in most situations. However, certain variances in bike frame design can cause interaction between the bike on the rear tray and the locking arm on the front tray. If this occurs with your bicycle you are more than welcome to return the rack, as there are no adjustments to remedy this particular and rare issue.

Will this rack work with bikes with fenders

Asked by: Dave
We do not recommend using this hitch rack for bikes with fenders because the hooks will not safely lock onto the tire where they are intended to be positioned.

Will it work with a Jeep Wrangler with a spare tire on the back? The specs look like the clearance will work in the "in-use" position, just not in the stowed position, but I want to be certain.

Asked by: dc89
There are several fit dimensions that need to be taken into account along with your spare tire. We recommend viewing the "Fitting Compatibility" link on the product page on Thule's website for more information.

Will I have a problem securing a touring bike with a front rack?

Asked by: NRSH
A front bike rack will interfere with the ratcheting arms on this car rack. If possible, we recommend removing the front rack on your bike.

will this work on a Acura TLX?

Asked by: vishna3
Yes, the T2 Pro will fit as long as the measurement from the center of the mounting hole on the hitch to the end of the bump is at least 6.25".
